I have a friend doing a speedrun of Ash to Iri 1

So the question is how does that get submitted? I don't know if they looked into but they're doing it live and it'll have a vod I think. but I think going from Ash to Iri 1 should definitely have a speedrun category. Any help would be cool thanks :).

In an extremely optimal scenario we're looking at 16-20 hours grind in a single session. l can only speak for myself, but that sounds like a horrible experience. I think a part of the appeal of DbD speed running is that the runs are short and easy.

Yeah it is a longer speedrun, but people also speedrun longer games that do typically take that long. For them I believe its a challenge. Just because it wouldn't be everyone's ideal speedrun doesn't mean he shouldn't be able to set a record for it ya know :). I think his goal is about 20 hours atm, he did one before around 26 hours I think. Also 16 hours? That's pretty damn good, the shortest time that I've heard/know of now

16 hours would be the optimal scenario. You double pip every match and have short queue times and quick matches.

I think we're entering the debate if speedruns of possibly more than 24 hours are healthy.

I think that just depends on the person being mentally prepared and well rested. Anything has its basic health concerns once you're awake for longer than normal. Like I'm mainly wondering how or if it can get submitted? Since their goal is to set the record for it, which if no one has set it yet, then they'd be doing so.

There's no category to submit this to. If you want a new category added you need to talk to the mods. Easiest way to reach them is the DbD SpeedRun discord.

This has been bought up when I was admin and it would never work not only due to time but too many inconsistencies, as you know DBD changes all the time and there are too many variables with people that DC, give up, hold the game hostage, Farming etc... The video would also be really long and we don't have the time to look at runs in that length just for something to end the run hours into it.
