you just didn't use your hover frames, every time you jump you get 60 frames where your falling speed is decreased. hold A while you charge your spindash and hold it for a second as you do the skip normally. this way, you'll get much more distance and it'll be easier to hit the goal ring

alternatively, if holding A while spindashing is awkward for you, you can just pause the game when you're out of bounds and press A to unpause but keep holding A
