It runs fine actually. Generally, there are some small differences between 1.0 and 1.3. The one big difference is barrel boosting that was patched out in 1.3. It doesn't do much for the speedrun, though. There are a couple of places where it can be useful but nothing major and nothing that doesn't have a different way of going about it. That's as far as we found. There could always be some more exploits, you never know.

There are all the skips that we do in the BFG edition in it so you can use that for reference. If you have trouble, just ask in discord.
We just never encountered anyone who has this game on something other than PC. We will make a place on the leaderboard for you if you do runs.
That is not a bad idea. I am not a mod of this game though. The only thing that could be a problem is the loadout and health that you enter the level with. The only way for this to be fair is to set the difficulty in the console (g_skill 0,1,2,3 - Recruit, Marine, Veteran, Nightmare respectively) and to run levels from the "DEV" menu because of the loadout. So if individual levels get introduced, they should have Any% and Nightmare Any%.
you probably just need to crack it. replace the existing .exe file with a cracked one. you can probably find it on torrent.

UuNot really my place since I never did actual runs but from experience, are you sure you selected game time comparison in livesplit? :D Because I think I had retail version and it still worked.
i bought steam and it works for me as well. it's a bit of pain to develop an autosplitter script IMO, since cheatengine is used to track down the address i believe, and that takes a while. try refunding your GOG game and just get steam, would save you trouble. good luck with your runs!

In this tutorial, KL0P5 and kolega explain most of the strats, save warps, pause warps and other stuff that we use to get a SoF2 run. The game is pretty broken and a lot of stuff can be abused which eventually cut the time in half. We feel like there's more that can be done so feel free to check it out, comment or ask anything.

Hey ladies and gents ( mostly gents :D). I've been running Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix for some time now, and I actually got pretty good at it, like way better than I imagined. I am currently in pursuit of a PB goal of sub 1h40m. When I started running the game, I never though I'd get as far as I did with skips, NPC abuse, good movement, execution and just awesome times. I'd like to take this opportunity to lure some of you into it, anyone who likes playing or running fps games, which I think are a lot of you. I feel as if the game need more people to be broken even more that KL0P5 and I already did. I am certain that if some people get into it, new stuff will emerge as it always does in speedrunning. I'm looking forward to hearing from anyone, moreover, there's a guide on running sof2 made by me, and you can ofc contact me any way you want (youtube or twitch). Cheers!
I agree. I guess there should be a separate category for all game difficulties and for each difficulty with wpn_inaccuracy 0. So it would be like: first you select wpn_inaccuracy 1 or 0 and then you select the difficulty (Amateur, Gun For Hire, Consultant and Soldier Of Fortune) when posting the run. Sound slike a lot of categories for only two runners but that's the way this game is. Of course, I (we) hope to see more runs from new people in the future, although sof2 is quite old.
