I'm just thinking on some categories

Any% No Relics / Any% Relics / 100% Relics / 100% No Relics for example

Thanks maelstrom. I learned from my mistakes and it wouldn't happen again :D

The new rules would stay...but i have to say i would never run this jrpg until remake. The option to restore runs are more visible for me now, that is the reason i don't change it until now XD

Hi!

With the new update of speedrun.com, finally i can restore the times everyone made. You know my thoughs, but everyone was so pissed about rejecting your runs without debating with the speedrunners.

So, the times are restored BUT for me, they're fucked up (go other posts to see why). Now I ask for solutions. Mine are using Bizhawk ONLY for emu speedruns, i want to know your opinions.

Another thing: I will change the last point to speedrun the game to last hit at final encounter with Lukav.

  1. I see your point and I apologize for the inconvenients for rejected runs, but as i said, there are reasons to to this.

  2. You want demonstration? I have videos, but here we go, i will post here all the emulators i used and the difference: Press startand mash start button until it appears the name and surname of kazuki: Every emulator unless one makes different times: You choose the Savokgear run as reference, playing on PS3 (so, original game, digital or not): He enters the time around 2 seconds slower, but it has around 37 seconds to the point i said before. Saying this, the emulators tested are different cores on retroarch, epsxe and bizhawk, so there are 5 emulators. All cores on retroarch gives you LESS than this time (between 25/30 seconds) and it depends of your pc or if u use 2x disc, so you have to understand it is unaccurate comparing to the original game. I asked a runner of the game to make a test with me, because his runs are too fast (the game itself, too). I asked him to test bizhawk (Skip Frames to 0) and make a video for test, and voila, it is the same exact time as my runs (it has to be 36/37 seconds, as the original game). If you want the test video, i can posted here, but you have to believe that i tested a lot with this. I can't correct the everyone's runs basing on this, you have to comprehend i cannot calculate EVERY video and frames of every run. As I said, every run posted here unless savokgear was made with emus FASTER than this time, and everyone with different times. And think about it, there wasn't a single post since 6 years, there weren't any community or anything since Maelstrom told me to make me mod. If you're a new potential runner and you haven't post a run, what is the problem to do as rules said? It is only use a single one emu, like others games i run (Suikoden II, and bizhawk too) for everyone. But I apologize, as i said earlier, if i rejected runs too early. I rejected my own run too, I have to say. If you're not agree with this...well, maybe i will have to abandon this community of the game, because the only thing i want for this game and community is doing things the most accurate and fair possible.

I tested with a runner for accuracy between emulators, trust me, i test a lot and every emulator unless bizhawk gives different times between videos and the game itself. The only one that gives the exact time is bizhawk. So, the old runs are made with different emus that are faster than bizhawk, so it is impossible to calculate correctly. If they were slower, it will be different. I'm trying to make things as good as possible to be competitive, and i know that this decision can be controversial, but i'm sure this way is the best possible to make correct accuracy between runners. There aren't rules for this game for 6 years, also. I posted some days ago a new run of alisa story, so there you can see how the emu goes and compare with the original game (savokgear run), it is almost the same.

Hi again! With the new rules, i will delete all runs and there's will be only one run (is in digital ps3 version, so it is fine) by now. Feel free to add new runs with these rules :D

Hi everyone! I was testing the best way for speedrunning this game with emulator. I discovered that Bizhawk is the best way in terms of accuracy between runners: Any pc is valid now (retroarch cores will be not valid, because the screen charges can be too fast depending of your pc). This will make the runs slower, but the accuracy is almost perfect. By the way, everyone runs will have to be updated for that change. I will post the rules for running asap. Thanks to malestrom and kingpomidor for your help! :D

Not much, but you have to go seeing the rng of the run, i mean, sometimes game fails too much with com standads, sometimes it is really insane, so the difference is around only 2:30 minutes or so, but not in every run. Mid or High are useless.

I'm running this game too, but far from making a solid route. I'm testing different weapons and knowing which enemies can skip, but nothing else
