I'm making a slight timing change because after having verified a number of runs, I don't like where the timer ends cause it makes splitting inconsistent.

Old timing: Timing ends upon Mickey opening the blue door after you obtain your 8th shard.

New timing: Timing ends upon first full black frame after Mickey walks through the blue door after you obtain your 8th shard.

This will only add 1-2 seconds to the run, but it's for the sake of making things more consistent. As of 10/31/18, all runs will be timed this way. The current runs on the leaderboards will stay the way they are.

Making a separate thread for this because it's ever so slightly different than 100%.

True 100% is a joke category that's been talked about a handful of times but now it actually has a completed run.

The only difference between True 100% and 100% is that this category requires you to "Best Friend" all 193 Pokepark Pokemon (Rainbow Parkpad next to their name). I also made it a point to add in the four legendary Pokemon you get through using passwords for the sake of "True 100%", though you aren't ever actually required to talk to them within the game.

Hey all,

So I've noticed that SMS bingo is still alive and well. I occasionally catch streams of bingos (and occasionally do them myself from time to time lately). I want to share the master sheet that I've kept around on a public thread for usage.

Link to the spreadsheet: http://bombch.us/B5ok (it's a long google doc link so I used bombch.us to shorten it)

I've been told before by people that this sheet completely devalues learning the game or any knowledge thereof and should be terminated. I personally don't agree with that as bingo is just a fun way to play the game without the constraints of speedrunning it. It's fun to run all around the game collecting goals instead of doing constant resets for a PB. Sure, you could argue this also devalues competitive bingo for Sunshine, but from what I can remember, those that were in the 2v2 tournament are all old runners (and/or top level runners at that). They've basically memorized this sheet without having to look at it.

Another reason why I've kept this is because I tend to see new runners or completely new players who are interested in bingo, but get destroyed because of not having 120 Shines knowledge, or any blue coin knowledge. I think it's fine for new runners to use this as a reference, especially against some of the goals they wouldn't know otherwise (seriously, there's only a handful of runners that can name off all blue coins from enemies or turbo nozzle locations). This spreadsheet only lists what they go to and what shine/stage you can find them. Some have loose references of location, others don't have any reference, few have a lot of info. It's just the way I ended up writing some of it.

I may be overthinking this from the last time I've talked to people about this, but I just felt like getting that out of the way.

One last thing: Sincere gratitude to 1UpsForLife who made the original Master Sheet (which I basically stole and updated at my own convenience). More than half of this is from her layout.

Other than that, happy bingo. If people really don't like this for whatever reason, I'll take it down.

I'm sure this was a thing already but here's a video of it being done for 96 and out of the blue coin gate for 120. Saves 3-5 seconds.

Here are the rules for the 100% category:

-Timing is done by real time. -Timing starts after selecting "Play in Pokepark". -Timing ends on the first full black frame after the text after beating Mew in the Chase skill game for the second time. You must have all friends and have viewed the special cutscene as well. -S + Q is allowed. -The 100% definition requires to fully upgrade Pikachu's stats, complete the friend list, and obtain all bonuses in all attractions. -Best Friend entries in the Friend List are not required. -Runs must be done on the English version. -Password features are required (Surfboard, Balloons and Snowboard only). -Passwords can be added after creating the file and before doing the run.

If there's anything that's wrong or that I'm missing, please let me know.

Edits: Changed the rules and the post to match the current ruleset.

I'm wondering if anybody is interested in an any% tournament (much like the Luigi's Mansion tourney as of recently). If anyone ¤does¤ want to join, bump thread of pm me on twitch or twitter or something, idk. As far as how the tourney would be setup, I personally do it like this:

Setup #1:

Seeds are randomly generated and are assigned to a random entrant. For example, there could be 32 entrants with PB times ranging from 1:16-1:30. Anyone could race against anyone. Now, I understand some people don't wanna get screwed by RNG (i.e. having a 1:25 PB and racing against someone with a 1:18 PB) so this would be double elimination. If you don't know what that means (lol), everyone starts in the tourney. When somebody loses, they enter the loser's bracket and can still participate. However, if you lose again while in the loser's bracket, you're out for good.

Setup #2

Seeds are assigned by PB time. The lower the seed number is (1 being the best), the better your PB is. If there were 32 entrants, Seed 1 would face Seed 32, Seed 2 would face Seed 31, and so on. This setup would also be double elimination.

Other Rules:

  1. Both runners start on file select and must start at the same time (via a race on SRL or by talking to one another using Skype or Discord).
  2. Mic/commentary is not required, but by all means go for it. Same for talking to your opponent if you so wish.
  3. Should you attempt EYG and happen to softlock, or in the event that you "game over" during the race, this will qualify as DNF (Did Not Finish). This does not mean the other competitor automatically wins. Should you both DNF in the race, you'll do another race until at least one person finishes (so long as you don't game over or anything). The date you do a make up race is up to your discretion, whether or not you do it right after the first race, or a later date. 4.1. Depending on how many rounds there are (if this tourney does become a thing), there'll be a time limit on when you need to schedule your race. For example, all Round 1 races should be done within a week. Same for Round 2 and so on until semi-finals or finals. 4.2. In the event that Competitor A won (A vs B ) and Competitor C won (C vs D) and move on to the second round and face each other, you can do so as soon as you wish, even if still in week 1 of Round 1. 4.3. Should there be a race not completed (E vs F) by the end of the week, they will both be counted as DNF and be sent to loser's bracket. In the event that Competitor E was trying to contact Competitor F all week but they failed to respond, Competitor E will be granted the win by default due to them showing an attempt to progress the tournament.

I'm sure there'll be more in future edits and such, but yeah. If anyone's interested in an any% tourney, say so. If this thread gets nothing, please pretend it didn't exist and I'm not a laughingstock for attempting this. :)

  1. Fixed Setup #2 description cause I'm bad at paying attention to what I write.

Hey everyone. If you're interested in joining the Mario Party Skype Group, send me or P4ntz (or even Fisherman) a message on Twitch. Right now it's small, but we're hoping to grow and improve. The Skype group is to help organize races, events, and/or netplay (drunk or not)! <3

I think there should be a category for that because why not. Plus, there's a few known times for this category. I currently have 2nd place for this specific one.
