I am open to adding, changing, etc any categories, because this game has 99 rounds (and allegedly no end screen) I decided for a short 10 rounds as a basic start category, although I do intend to make a category for 25 Rounds as well.

IF you have any ideas, suggestions, comments as to what the length or goal of these should be; please post them here!

So I have watched several videos in learning this game, I noticed timers starting at -8.8, -8.75, -8.6, and then the guide says -9.6

So I think my question somewhat asks itself: just what happened to Jimmy Hoffa?

Also, what should I use for a time offset?

Thank you.

So I have never run a game where it came down to MS, so this is something I am fairly new to. I did get a video trimmer that lets me start and stop a clip down to the frame which gives a precise count. Easy right? Well... Only when you are EXACTLY sure what frame to start with.

Using the current WR and its trimmed frame counted version, I see that the count is started on the first frame that cuts to the street view. I just want to double check that this is where I should start the clip, the end clip is self-explanatory as per the rules (as soon as the enemy fighter is not visible)

Just wanted to know this for future reference if I keep grinding this. I also think it would be good if there was an exact point of ruling since this is SUCH a short "game".

Cheers!

Rarely does a gem like Super Pitfall come out. This game is a true masterpiece, and hopefully, this advert does it justice.

So I made a simple ROM Checker where you can upload a ROM, and it checks against known PRG hashes to determine the version/game/etc reading the iNES header data and a few other details.

Long story short - You upload a ROM, it tells you the region, revision, game name of it. It still needs some work, but if anyone wants to try it out, its right here:

https://10new01f.com/tools/romchecker/

It (should) work for something like 3000 different known ROMS/versions, so it could be useful for people looking for a certain ROM, for a certain game.

Let me know if it works/doesn't

I really didn't think this game was getting enough attention. Hopefully, this will help.

So I wasn't able to do any runs of the game for a couple of weeks, but I was able to make this video to promote speedrunning Rygar:

It's made to look/feel like an old NES commercial. It's pretty stupid, but I thought I would share it.

Jappy New Year everyone, look forward to seeing more runners in 2018!

First of all, congrats to WhiteHat94 on the new WR!

The new route looks great, although when trying this on my cart I was unable to bounce off the molgolin (them red-wing guys), I was, however, able to get it to work on my flash cart. I am assuming there are different PRGS, and I would like to dig deeper, provided someone already has not. The two Rygar carts I have (one is for a friend's Xmas present but I still tested it) are the three screw and black quality seal logo. I have seen cart versions that have 5 screws, as well as versions with a gold seal of approval (I believe these are PAL). I am just curious as to which version is what, if anyone knows, or has bothered to look into it.

The SHA-1 Hash for the ROM I have is B76593A8FBD39447CC5A5D85E525427B9ECEB6F8, which looking at https://nesdir.github.io/B3783F2A_USA.html shows this as the release of Rygar NES-RY-0

My cartridge is NES-RY-1, so it would seem that the older version is the ideal version for this route.

Again, I am sorry if this is known by other runners, I just could not find any information about the two US versions, so I wanted to share my findings. =)

Also, I am curious who discovered the new route. I particularly like the new farming spot, albeit the jump-in I am not used to making yet.
