thread: Speedrunning
GermanyRunnibalLecter1 year ago

Hi guys, I seek brief speedruns of good games on Switch. I wasn't able to speedrun for a long time but want to reignite the fire and the spirit of this passion. I have a lot to do and little time for my beloved speedruns. Therefore, I need some games that can be done in, let's say, 10-20 minutes and are quite valuable. I would appreciate your suggestions :) Keep the fire burning. Thanks.

Thanks for this specific answer. I'm glad there is someone running it on Switch.

I know this green screen too well. I often restart levels instantly when I miss a frame ;) Yeah, I'm used to the JoyCon buttons, and I can run while in handheld mode. After some weeks of running Vectronom I constantly use the right hand, which is faster as my left one.

Sorry, I should have consider the speedrun rules, but thanks for the enlightenment. :)

I read books, scientific literature, and fiction. I also write and compose songs. Thus, I have several projects. Besides, I like watching movies and TV shows, learning foreign languages (especially Slavonic languages), and watching and doing speedruns.

Can someone tell me why nobody is running Mega Man X on Switch? It would be possible via Mega Man X Legacy Collection.

As all of you will know, in some cases it's possible to jump on spike locations. Many of you use this. Today while I was training my speedrun I noticed something else. Regarding the level Clockwork's second stage, you can jump without any pauses on the outlines to the goal. You just need a fast but constant jump rhythm, then you can neglect the spikes. Do you use this kind of strategy in other levels too?

There are some. Currently, I would name Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Otherwise: all Zelda games, Resident Evil 1, Vectronom, Octopath Traveler and many more ;)

I just started to run Vectronom on Switch. I'm curious about some points. Did you change the setting for the input sensitivity? I didn't, and I think it runs smoothly. I also would like to know, if you use a Pro Controller or the Joy-Cons (my choice). I noticed that I use the left side when I have to be on the beat, and the right side when I have to be fast. Have you made similar experiences? Since I'm a total beginner, do you have any other tips for me?

I'm RunnibalLecter and absolutely new to the game. I would like to try speedrunning games, for instance, Katana Zero, Carrion, Hades, Celeste, and hopefully many more in the future.

Besides, I grew up with Nintendo systems. Thus, I probably will speedrun especially on Switch.

I hope to learn a lot from you guys and have a super fun time :)
