iirc It was a separate category on this leaderboard for a bit before being moved. So it was a holdover from that, removed

I think this le_hulk video covers it:

Ignore my previous rejection and comment. Youtube video had a glitch temporarily that was on my end. Sorry about that! Nice run!

Heyo, gonna remove milliseconds since they're unnecessary for now(Congrats Fetti!). Lemme know if there are any objections to that

California, USALivelyraccoon2 years ago

Also any objections to me removing this background? I think it's ugly as sin and I think the guy that added it is inactive

California, USALivelyraccoon2 years ago

Heyo I added milliseconds just for the top 2 runs. It seems like Fetti's run is 3 frames faster? Maybe I'm wrong cuz Yaoyorozu said 4. Don't think it matters too much but let me know if I'm wrong on one of the timings.

If the times improve to not be the same amount of seconds I'll probably remove milliseconds from the leaderboard because most of the time they're not accurate when submitted(Since most of the time people aren't going to frame count their PBs).

Gotcha, fair enough. To present an alternative that isn't keeping it the same, could have an option for PRG0(Yes/No) on each run on the leaderboard that folks could filter on. Similar to how banjo tooie handles jinjo manipulation(https://www.speedrun.com/bt). Likewise am interested on what other folks think the best option for this is

The title's throwing me a bit, is the frustration here that only somebody on emulator or an NES with an everdrive could get a top time? I can see why that may be frustrating, although emulator is a pretty accessible option(unless you're anti-emulator, which is fair I guess). There is probably some room for a legitimate discussion on this rather than sarcasm. Curious what you suggest the solution is, splitting the leaderboard?

Heyo, can you tag Bomberman(Scratch) as a fangame and also a webgame(if you can have multiple tags)? tyty https://www.speedrun.com/bombermanscratch

This is a neat trick. Unfortunately when I do it it's a bit slower than the regular strat cuz I have to wait for the bird.

I think if you get there a little slower(or maybe faster) than I do it does save time. I did a crude comparison loading a state on the top right platform and timing till the end of the stage and this saved almost a second when I didn't have to wait at all for the bird.

Nice find!

Make sure you're holding down when you touch the rail. If you don't then I think you get the softlock you're metnioning. As far as the rom, I don't think I'm allowed to link it but if you search for prg0 donkey kong jr nes rom you should be able to find it.

I believe you have to play on the (NES)PRG0 version of the game. Then you just hold down and jump to do a backwards jump on to the rail and you clip through.

Hmm. It seems like first place is this guy(https://com.nicovideo.jp/community/co2337287?com_header=1) and he has part 1 of a video but no second part?

Second place is this guy maybe. https://com.nicovideo.jp/community/co1643173?com_header=1 but his only video is a 29:35 ()

I dunno what the move is. Without videos I'm inclined to say removing them is the right call(No vid no did). Seems weird the one guy has half his run uploaded and not the other half

Sounds good to me. I'd suggest it being a miscellaneous category since it's not a full game run.

Timing in all categories has been adjusted to character selection whereas some were difficulty select before. In most cases it was 9-10 seconds shaved off the time, different depending on how fast you skipped the cutscene or selected character.

If you think I made an error changing your time, let me know.

Additional note: Also removed some runs that no longer had videos

Run is removed. To clarify, the second section of my post wasn't aimed at you Toad. I think you did a good job at creating a discussion instead of a witch hunt.

For anyone looking at this thread not knowing the context since the run is removed from the leaderboard, here's a link:

Quick note on the gameplay itself: I never use the two inputs for the same direction at the same time. While I mash circle/triangle (buttons for left and right) I'm not inputting anything on the dpad. Also left + right / up + down inputs are disabled and result in no input. I dunno if either of those two things needed clarification but I figured I'd clarify just in case.

In this thread and in the thread on twitter my actions have been described as "shady", "sketchy" and "cheating" which implies I was dishonest or attempting to break the rules and get away with it. This irks me quite a bit because it is so far from the truth. Before I started playing with this controller configuration I asked auth if he thought it was cheating. Then when I got the run I disclosed in the description on this site and on youtube what I had done.

If the consensus is that the run shouldn't be allowed then I'm alright with it, albeit a little frustrated. I'll flip my controller upside down and try to beat my run. Just please stop referring to me with such negative connotation.

Editing this in: I believe you can do something somewhat similar on the WiiVC version. A gamecube controller would be able to move with the stick and the dpad
