Okay I don’t usually chime in on these conversations but this one is important to me.
As someone who has ran both gold crown categories extensively and have absolutely put the most time into routing and running the categories. They both offer completely different routing, strategies and cor skip actually features a glitch in this game, which is so rare because other than cor skip, it’s the only one in the game. It’s visually stunning but still difficult to pull off. Calling it “the easy way out” is not doing it justice.
If this somehow gets considered to be a rule please consult the actual gold crown runners, including myself. But I strongly disagree with this on all fronts.
100% requires completing the game as fast as possible, so skipping missions to complete it with a faster car later is allowed, as long as you do complete the game at 100%
All story missions is designed to complete the missions in sequential order, and there are no cases where coming back with a faster car is worth it anyway.
Allows you to use the physics to gain some speed off jumps. Basically it
I know I don't run kh ATM but I still feel like my opinion should hold some weight.
SSD should be allowed and be the same category.
I'm keeping this short. If I run this game I don't want to have to have the category be an unnecessarily long name as biz said. It would be obnoxious and purely annoying to deal with. "KH2.8 0.2 PS4 Pro SSD Any% Beginner" sounds obnoxious
Comparing SSD and HDD with ps2 and BC PS3 doesn't make sense because the BC PS3 is so uncommon that it's rarity makes it 10x more expensive than a SSD. SSDs are pretty cheap tbh
I don't like pay2win mentality, but if the company who made the console gives instructions and a guide on how to install an SSD there's not really a reason to not use it.
tl;dr
I believe SSD should be accepted and put into the same category
See the thing is, Plat and gold crown both have pop ups for when you obtain them. JJ doesn't so there's not exactly a definitive way to end timing.
Since nothing more has been said, and everyone here seems to be in favor of splitting the categories, I've done so. If there are any problems with this, it can be very easily changed back.
The timing will need to have more discussion.
I agree with changing the timing for Silver crown and Plat, But the 100% categories have a counter at the end, and need that for verification of actually completing 100%. So I don't agree to changing for those categories specifically.
To my understanding I believe we had the intentions of if anyone did a run of it on PS3, it would be listed under a different category
Thats exactly what it sounded like hobz but w.e
No other community I've seen rejects runs that are a good chunk away from the world record. Usually communitys have just a general idea of when to reject based on time.
Regardless, I feel like if they AT LEAST provide some splits, or even if we have this arbritrary rule that after a few personals bests, then you need start providing video proof, cause chances are that many people won't be able to record their first run at least for a few runs. I can understand rejecting for having no proof at all, but splits should be accepted.
We are also not calling other people bad, its just generally known that once you hit a certain time, then you need to start giving us more proof of the time.
