Decided on separating the categories per console.

Runs can be now submitted for each console. I'll leave this post open for any possible future questions or discussion.

A small update on this regard:

  • Switch load times deceived me, they started to take a lot longer than I seen before and definitely way longer than PC version (around 3-4 seconds longer at least).
  • Airship trick didn't seem to work either. My first guess was that the Switch touch screen working as another move input, but instead it works as another way of jumping (might be able to find something new out of this maybe).
  • Not being able to move after a blackout happens in this console too so in that case all ports behave the same. Sad update still 😁
  • Dash stacking works. Emote animation cancel for Buried sources also works. Camera exploits also works (gaining control when falling into water and defying the laws of gravity at least).

The next question would be, in the case of ports being separated (which is probably going to happen soon): Would it be more appropriate to separate between PC / Consoles, or PC / PS4 / Switch separately. I assume loading times between PS4 and Switch differ a lot, considering both consoles.

Might try to do a test run sometime soon eventually to see how it goes (mostly the load times)

Hello everyone!

As far as from now haven't noticed any huge differences between both versions. Load times seem stable between different ports (personally i tried Switch and PC version, no idea how PS4 behaves), and tech wise there don't seem to be any issues that arise yet.

(Though All Sanctuaries cant be run, at least yet, on consoles)

For now there seems no need to separate port versions, but I first want to ask the player base and see the opinions.

Thanks for reading!

Hi everyone!

Currently we found for All Sanctuaries, that if you Save & Quit after completing the Sacred Tree Sanctuaries 2 and 4 before exiting each sanctuary: you can skip the city unlock cutscene which takes at least 15 seconds, and both loading screens leading to the city, and afterwards to Silent Valley. Why? Since you'll be save-quitting, when you reload the file you'll be on Silent Valley, ready to warp to the next city.

This could also be useful for Any% categories if routed for Futago Sanctuary 2 (STS4), but not tested yet. Not recommended for Shiokaze Sanctuary 2 since you want to obtain Boost asap and Shiokaze cleaning is quite fast. Neither it will work for Gengetsu Sanctuary 2 since the city unlock cutscene in this case is what unlocks Ring Sanctuary teleport.

The question is, should we allow this? It does give some usage to Save feature in game and some extra menuing on the run, and basically it's a free time save. Thanks for your attention :p

Save & quitting in runs is allowed and added into the rules in more detail

Personally, I think MegaMap speedrun should be probably locked into 100%, though can differ with this. I feel the reason of playing MegaMap and just going for Any%/skipping everything would render it kinda contradictory, and could be the same as just going for Any% Normal Megabeast Core.

For Boss Rush I think it could fit as a Individual level category maybe, to not clutter the general Leaderboard, since it would be locked into Any% anyways

No thoughts on Exterminator on my side yet though
