It might vary if you're using BIOHARD or BIOSOFT, have you tried both?

I thought about it some time ago when I started running the game but I thought it didn't have much of a difference since the game doesn't really count the items. Thinking about it now, I think it makes sense, picking up all the items while trying to have good movement sounds pretty cool and adds a little bit more time and different types of optimization to a really short run. That said, I'll add the category, there's no reason why not

I think calling it NG+ is the best choice really, the points SephJul and Clix brought up being the reason why. There's not really a reason to limit the possibilities and strats around just the RL, if the enemies do really increase difficulty in NG+ it'd make for cool challenge runs if Knife only isn't enough for the mad men we have around here. I'll try doing some NG+ runs but I imagine I won't have a much different results than Clix had, but I think it's definetly worth a try, It's something I've been interested in for a while and sounds like a cool run. The only concern I have is about how many people are going to actually run it, but I think NG+ is broad enough for a considerable amount of players to join in

Yeah, I agree with clix_gaming, it's a cheap way to save time and it doesn't make you go faster, it just stops the timer, so it's basically just giving the illusion you've beaten the game faster. As for idling in the F5 menu, I think there's no problem with it, people do it in RE4 by pressing the select button if I'm not mistaken, I think it's a good way to pause a run since when you start playing you can't stop untill you get to a long cutscene, but using it to actually save time is broken and I can see people abusing it in the future

Maybe a bit of a stretch but a nice challenge run for NG+ would be kill all enemies, since the infinite ammo allows it without it becoming a never ending search for ammo, I'd see myself doing that but I don't know if people would bother. I agree that it should be called NG+ and be a sub category, maybe for the people that are tired of doing the same route and want to do something different, it's good to have something fresh to work with, it should be fun

It only takes one space, I just checked, but there was another weapon in my inv, so the result is the same on the acid skip. It sounds like a fun category and I've wondered why there isn't a category for it too, recently actually, maybe the bosses are faster to kill like Yawn, Plant 42 and Tyrant, but I'd have to test it cause I don't know if the damage on the RL is that big. Maybe if some people start doing it'll become a thing, I'd be interested but I wouldn't start now, RE1 is making my head hurt.
