Hello here :) I wonder if someone know about the real difference of time between playing on a US/JAP Switch (NTSC) vs a European Switch (PAL) ? NTSC look like a bit faster but if anyone know a bit more about it or have an answer to offer it would be nice. My run is already done and will be submit soon but just to know if this is a real diff or not really.

Hello with our community we are many new runners into Speedrunning BW2 Manipless at this moment, and there is a big difference of time depending on which support you are running.

Base* : - Physical N3DS/3DS/DS with official game

Compare to :

  • Physical N3DS/3DS/DS with flash card, you save approximative 10sec for each save ingame because it's instantly done > Not a big deal in PB attemps, only for races but it's ok.

  • MelonDS Emulator is really close to Base* with really really small difference, maybe a little bit faster on double/trio combat because less laggy - Seems legit to us to keep it ok but it's up to you

  • DesMUME : MORE THAN 5MN FASTER ! compare to all of the other supports - No chance for physical players to compete against that.

Solution 1 : Ban only Desmume Emulator from support allowed, it's easy to do + we keep all the players from Emulators and Physical support in the same leaderboard to make something cool for everyone and fair in term of Gamespeed.

Solution 2 : Split this category with "Emulator" / "Physical" if you prefer to do so, for physical players to have at least a goal and a chance to do something in this category, otherwise no point at all for them. But with this solution we lose the regroupment of all players into one leaderboards, on a game which is not the most played pokemon game.

Solution 3 : Do nothing, that force everyone to play on DesMume to be competitive, it's a bit sad for physical players (personnally I would give up the category)

We are creating some sort of hype arround this game with new rootings and many new players, many races to come and surely a tournament open to everyone soon, we would be very happy to see an evolution of the RuleSet please,

Galino.
