After a long, long time of people complaining about it, we've finally found a new home for the Category Extension IL's. We've decided to move Golf 3/9 Holes, Frisbee Golf 3/9 Holes, and Cycling 1/3 Stages to the main board, under new sub-categories you can view in the "Golf", "Frisbee Golf", and "Cycling" categories. We decided not to Move the rest of them (Power Cruising, Canoeing, and Showdown) for 3 reasons: 1. They're not main board categories, 2. They're not really that popular anyways, and 3. They would look clunky on the main board (For example, having 20 sub-categories for Showdown...) Hope you all enjoy the new changes!

I guess it's time to make this public as well: This will be my last act as mod for Resort. After thinking about it for a long time I've decided that my time in this position is up, and just isn't for me anymore. I'll still be active in the community and doing runs as always, but I decided it was for the best for me to resign. I want to thank the rest of the mod team and everyone else in the community for giving me this opportunity and experience, and I hope you guys can respect my decision. And as always,

Revamped Menu

Custom Golf Courses: The Storm Island Team managed to make the first 2 custom Wii Sports Resort Golf Courses! One of them is over Resort Hole 1, and the other is over Classic Hole 1. You can't complete it due to how the game applies collision culling to the cup. We are working on a fix for that but for now, the courses are for show.

510 Wind is back! Updates to Out of this World mode in golf.

Custom Swordplay Showdown Stages

This also brings in two new categories in the Level Leaderboard, which are Swordplay Showdown - Custom Stages, and Golf: 1 Holes (Custom)

Since SRC added multiplayer ILs, we're finally gonna be moving all the minigame ILs back to the Level Leaderboard section. That is all. Also if you see random people get added as mods they're just temporary mods that are helping me move runs to the Level Leaderboard, don't panic, they're people I trust.

I suppose the only thing left to say is I apologize to everyone's SRC notifications.

In the Wii Series Speedrunning Discord we had a discussion and agreed to add a new category to the IL section, Superstar Class (Level 2000). We did this as we agreed some sports are almost impossible to reach max level in one session, like Golf, Wakeboarding, Frisbee Dog, etc., and getting only 2000 is a much easier task. We do recognize however that some people may try for Level 2500 in sports like Golf, so we'll still be keeping the category. I filled in some runs for Superstar Class by submitting parts of Level 2500 runs.

Btw if I submitted your Level 2500 run as a Superstar Class and you want me to take it down, no problem, just @ me on discord.

Hello, everyone. I'm GamingLand, a new mod of Wii Party U. Over the past couple weeks, we in the main Wii Series community have been talking with TehWhack (He ultimately decided to add me to the mod team) and have made some major changes to the leaderboard. I'm making this forum post for the runners not involved in the Wii Series Speedrunning Discord and may be confused as to what all the changes have been for.

Here is the laundry list of changes made to the Leaderboard so far:

-Split up "TV Party" and made them into their own individual categories. (Highway Rollers, GamePad Island, Mii Fashion Plaza, The Balldozer and Team Building) -Added GamePad Island as a TV Party game. Has Multiple Players and Multiple Controllers 1 Player as sub-categories as well. -New GamePad Party categories, All Competitive/Co-op Tabletop Minigames. -All Play Minigames is now a category to accompany 1 vs. Rivals Minigames. -Demolition Row subcategories, 25 Levels and 50 Levels added. This is to make this category more accessible and easier to speedrun. -Bridge Burners is now a category. -Dojo Domination has now been made into one category, with subcategories for All Difficulties, Advanced, Standard and Beginner difficulties. -Tabletop Tournament is now a category, with subcategories for each mode, Single Elimination and Round Robin. -Categories are now in order of how they appear in game (For example, TV Party games appear first, GamePad Party appears after TV Party games, etc. -Various rule changes/rewrites.

Special thanks to @TehWhack for adding me as a moderator and allowing me to make these changes, and @CedrikLPle for ideas and rule fixes. These changes have already been making impact on the amount of active runners of the game and I hope it continues in the future. Happy speedrunning!

Me and a few of my friends tried to get the fastest time we could in the new 4v4 mode, and the best we got after an hour or two was 0:56, here's the video If this could be added to the boards I'd really appreciate it!

So, we've made a change in the minigame leaderboard. There is now a separate sub category for minigame runs with multiple controllers. Adam was in charge of editing all the runs to include the sub category, so they didn't disappear on the leaderboard. However not all of the runs were editing, and we don't exactly keep track of all of them. If your minigame run doesn't appear on the leaderboard you don't have to resubmit, just tell me in this forum, and I can make them reappear by editing the runs on your profile. Thanks.

Moving Categories to Category Extensions

A few categories have been added to the Category Extensions. As you may have noticed, GiveUp, Blind, and All Courses is gone from this leaderboard. They've been moved over into a "Golf Challenges" category on WSRCE. Look here: https://www.speedrun.com/wsrce#Golf_Challenges .

Canoeing - All Stages is Now on the Main Leaderboard

A new Canoeing category, All Stages, is now on the board! Check the rules to see how it works. We've added it under a "Canoeing" category as a sub category. "Quack%" is also a sub category under Canoeing.

Yeah, so, if you wanna join the Wii Series Speedrunning Discord, you have to contact @Cmdr , @Plyd823, or @Bandow2000 , on Discord. The reason for this is because of a troll joining with alt. accounts and excessively pinging people (Not gonna name names because I'm not gonna give him attention and let other people give him attention). Personally, I dislike the amount of security that has been put on the server, but I don't make the rules.

Lately I've noticed an issue on some of my recordings. I don't know if this is a OBS or Capture Card (AVerMedia LGP Lite) issue, but there's some weird noises in the background of the recordings.

Example of problem: You can tell the issue just from listening to the first few seconds.

I don't know if it's only me hearing this either and I need new headphones, but when I check other runs that don't have audio, they don't have the same noises, so.

If you have category ideas, please post them here to reduce clutter in the forum.

If we could have these IL categories and All Stages categories added, I think that would improve the game.

I think we should add a Wii Sports Category Extensions Leaderboard on SRC. I have a google doc of the CE board I made for everyone to put their times on here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1BqxhlwbNgPlwXFl5GOUOujaC_lKsRGbY_7gibP8aKyM . You'll also see I have cover art for WSCE as well. We have enough categories and runs to make a board. Right now the categories I, Francesco, and others have came up with are: Golf - Blind, Golf - GiveUp%, Wii Fitness, All Training Games, All Golf Tour, and All Sports No Baseball.

Here's my video comparing Standard Timing and Reset Timing. Make sure you start your timer at 0.93 if you're starting from Reset and not from pressing Start.
