If prompted to time your attempts, how long do you suppose it'd take you to set up a pair of sub-categories within a category?

You'd need to...

1. Name the variable.
2. Name the two values.
3. Set a default sub-category and make sure that any runs without a value were set to the default.
4. Set the "Level" and "Category" settings properly.
5. Turn on "Use as sub-category".

Five steps. Any predictions on how much time it might take? I have my own ideas about that, but I'd like to hear what you think.

I hereby officially request that you make two sub-categories for Sonic 4 (All Episodes): Beat The Game and All Emeralds.

My understanding is that Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 of X Challenge have a different set of bosses in each of their final rounds. Given that that's the case and those different stages surely affect how the runs play out, it may be a good idea to separate the "Challenge Mode" category into two separate categories: X Challenge Vol. 1 and X Challenge Vol. 2.

Also, the rules section could use updating. The game's been out for over two years now and it still says "Timing rules pending." I'd like to submit runs of X Challenge at some point and it'd be nice to know if I'm timing it correctly, so maybe we can get on that.

Now that the Switch has made co-op DKC super accessible, I'd like to see a two-player version of the All Stages category added to the board in the same way that it's been added for DKC2. Would this be alright?

Hey y'all. About a month ago, I was browsing and noticed that the category Offline Story Any% doesn't currently have any rules defined. Wanting to see that taken care of at some point, I attempted to reach out to Elehex via DMs, given that he's both a mod and the only person with a run. Unfortunately for me, rather than reply or acquiesce to my request, he blocked me :(

Any chance one of the other three mods might take care of it instead?

I'm streaming Super Metroid at the moment. The site's Streams section has me listed as playing Super Metroid: Redesign instead, which is not accurate. The only run of SM I have is on the Super Metroid (Any%) board, so I'd assume that's what my stream would be listed as.

Classic Mega Man games on Speedrun.com when? Four months have passed since the last time we talked about it and API synchronization between the two sites has not been developed to my knowledge. Can we get an update? Who's working on it? What circumstances have to change? I very much hope 2018 will be the year of complete classic Mega Man boards on Speedrun.com

I noticed that none of the runs on the boards currently are done with an emulator. I've asked around and been told that emulator saves time vs. console via having significantly less lag. Is this true?

It would be a shame not to allow emulator runs if they're faster; speedrunners do like to go fast and not everyone can afford consoles and/or hard copies of a game. Still, if there's a big difference between console and emulator than I'd say they shouldn't share a board. What are the chances that emulators could get their own section on here that would separate them from console runs?

I'm interested in learning this game. I originally came here hoping to find a guide of some kind but now I'm curious about the way the categories are set up.

Any%, Alucard US, Grant US, Sypha US, Trevor US, Alucard JP, Grant JP, Sypha JP, and Trevor JP.

The rules for these categories aren't filled out at the moment so there's nothing there to provide me with clarity. Would anyone here be so kind as to tell me the differences between the categories?

With a category like Grant - US, I assume you use the US cart/rom, grab Grant ASAP and play as him throughout the entire game. Sypha - JP is probably get Sypha ASAP and play as her through the whole game but on the JP cart/rom. What is Any%? Is that just do whatever you want on any cart/rom with any character?

Also, have you guys thought about using sub-categories at all?

For providing us all with this excellent leaderboard filled with solid runs from superb runners, I want to personally say thanks. You put a lot of time and effort into making this a thing and you deserve all the love. I appreciate this and I appreciate you. Keep up the good work, Laseki.

Someone wants me to run this with them. What kind of rules/restrictions would we be looking at? Hit me up with the details so I know if this is doable for me.

I'm curious as to what the differences are that lead to these three having their own category. Somebody school me.

I tried playing as Minion in Tournament (Hard). As it turns out, playing as Minion means you don't have to fight Minion in Amazonia. That's not super fair for the other characters who end up having that extra boss fight to deal with. I'm thinking we should not allow Minion to be played in the normal categories. Maybe we could make a category for Minion though. What do you guys think?

Hey guys, I'm trying to figure out how to make the Twisted Metal boards decent. Everyone do me a favor and run the game a bunch of times so I have submissions to look at. Also, give me suggestions as to how I can make the boards super neat.
