So I had a really good pace for me going into Poseidon's Temple and a dang rock hit me out of the screen change zone...

Yeah seems like maybe they didn't make the valid area for the transition wide enough as I've been knocked into the hole before and been fine. Seems to be when you get pushed up against the side.
