Sorry, this is because we recently had spammers join the discord, dm me on discord (Jonah vK#8017) and I'll send it over :)
Since there's no way of getting in-game time on console, you would have to submit with real time. This can be got from the video time, so just streaming and then exporting the video and getting the time would work fine :)
Ah I see, just for reference "load 00" is not allowed in runs :)
Are you comparing against in-game time or real time?
What Tendersteel said, you just need to make sure that you're comparing against game time, otherwise it won't automatically change.
This video by moose should cover it: https://www.speedrun.com/Portal/guide/q1frw
If you still need any help feel free to join the discord and ask :)
Hi, I'm looking to get (super?)mod on the portal category extensions board. https://www.speedrun.com/Portal_Category_Extensions
Both of the current mods have been inactive on the site for quite a while. I've made attempts to contact biiwix on both discord and twitter with no response.
I'm already supermod on the main portal board, so being mod here should be no issue.
Thanks :)
I'll change the run so that the time without loads is the same as the time with loads. This should make it show up on the leaderboards. :)
You say that "we rely on them for top 10 verification", this is in a very small part true. For the most part we rely on live videos for top 10 times. The only thing that demos actually help us verify for a top 10 run is whether a jump script is being used.
The rule is that you require both for a top 10 run, since having exclusively a video or demos is flawed in terms of conclusive proof that the run is legit.
In the "resources" tab, if you scroll down to the bottom, you will find the Source Unpack. Download this, then run the portal.bat file and you'll be playing on the old patch.
Are you running the 'normal' batch file for portal, or the one in the rinput folder called "Portal+RInput"?
Change on 12/03/2017
IL rules have had "No saving/loading" added to make the rules clearer, however the actual rules have not been changed.
Category-related changes on 4/30/2017
All miscellaneous categories have been moved to a new page: http://www.speedrun.com/Portal_Category_Extensions If you had any runs in these categories, they have also been moved and added to the leaderboards.
This leaves the four 'main' categories on this page: Out of Bounds, Inbounds, Legacy and Glitchless.
This post has been left unamended since 9/2/2015. As such, here is an update of all rule changes since then: _
Changes or additions on 9/20/2015
Proof: Runs in the top 10 should provide both demos and a video, including livesplit. Top 10 runs HAVE to be submitted with a live recording with livesplit showing and demos.
This applied only to the Out of Bounds and Inbounds categories at this time. _
Changes or additions on 8/8/2016
Timing: Pauses have to be timed (Engine Ticks with Pauses)
This applies to all categories. _
Changes or additions on 10/30/2016
24 Cubes: Cube duping is not permitted _
Changes or additions on 12/4/2016
Allowed commands/bindings: -save, fps_max [fps], load on one key binding
This applies only to Out of Bounds _
Changes or additions on 3/13/2017
Proof: Runs in the top 10 should provide both demos and a video, including livesplit. Top 10 runs HAVE to be submitted with a live recording with livesplit showing and demos.
This was added to both glitchless and legacy at this point, due to their growth in popularity and competitiveness.
Banned Glitches:
- VWW
This applies only to glitchless.
My assumptions from what I read is that you can do it anytime within the week, so you could organise it for whenever's comfortable.
