I concur with what you have said. I feel that my statement was made out of rash and unjust anger.

I am furious and disappointed that anyone would dare desecrate the sacred memories of this game by cheating and speeding the game up in their emulator. During multiple of the Rat Chase segments it is clear that runner Fredinloko sped up the game by looking at the in game time limit. I think we need to ban emulators from use in submitting runs.

I'm watching through a run because I plan on getting into running this game, but I'm curious what causes runners to reset at the Dragon Slime synthesis.

Starting Saturday, November 3rd, and ending on Tuesday, November 6th, I will be grinding Any% for 6+ hours on each day. I may also stream some on the night before day one, but not for nearly as much time. The link to my twitch is on my profile.

So after two hours of fiddling I am sad to report that my sad little potato cannot run BSNES at a good enough speed.

I looked over the two runs, and I can definitely say that I agree that there was a gap between the two. I agree that no one should have to modify their console, so the best thing to do to allow this game to still be accessible to those that weren't able to get a SNES Classic would be to start creating a category for emulated runs. I'll do a run of the game on BSNES, and then post it here for you to look over. Overall, I agree with what you added to this discussion.

Update: Just got a 11:18.56, and it was recorded at a consistent 20 frames per second so if the moderators of this game want to see that I can post it in here, so you can compare an emulated run to a SNESClassic run, I can.

I ask because so far I've loved running this game, but don't want my runs to go to waste. I don't know all the technicalities of why emulated runs are banned, but I would be perfectly fine with them becoming a separate category.
