Hello everyone. I want to bring back up the topic of the auto splitter debacle. To get to the point, we are walking back the required use and I'm obligated to make sense of everything that has happened so far.

To start off, we're acknowledging that we messed up right from the start. We always planned to have a timer on screen for any run that isn't strictly time trial. The auto splitter was an unprecedented development and we failed to properly talk over its implementation. It was a decision that was rushed out as soon as it was finished and we never truly talked it over, nor did we make sure we there was input from every member of the mod team. At the start of the debate we didn't eve have a dedicated space to have the discussion. We will not make that mistake again.

As stated before, the decision was fairly rushed out.

We still believe that the auto splitter will be the most accurate way to time a run that isn't a time trial, however what was never mentioned was that we inadvertently took some user choice away from you all. Once again, wrong on our part.

Given everything that went down this may come off insincere, but we do value your feedback. Unfortunately tempers flared and our responses spiraled completely out of control. We want to formally apologize for that and we will control ourselves moving on. Although I did not participate much throughout the discourse, I did make some scathing comments in our group chat that I quite regret now that I've had some time to reflect. I would even step down form this position myself if we ever got to that point again.

In the future, any feedback we receive from you all, will be taken with a level head and all angles will be equally considered. We have adjusted the SRC leaderboards to reflect runs that make or don't make use of the auto splitter, and we will continue to try and work with you on any other technical issue within our knowledge. This innocent debate should not have spiraled as far as it did and I wish to not divide our already small community over something so very mundane. I feel like we have lost a lot of trust from you all and I want to repair that. Thank you for reading.
