Skipping soul collection cutscenes by hard resetting (i.e. resetting your console or force closing the game) is banned. You can skip them as long as the game doesn't stop running, like the ones at Gol-Set or the first time you trigger Soul.
We're trying to reduce the "hardware race" for PC runs this way.
Ah, sorry, I didn't mean to actually reset the boards, bad wording. And yeah, imo allowing quitouts results in a race of hardware, not skill. If people want to see themselves in first place, they might as well use the filters at the top : P
(Setting the reset category as misc. is also an option)
If we split between resets and no resets, we might as well split PS4 and PC. These categories already kinda split between platforms. I doubt many PS4 runners wil do reset-any% if they are nowhere near competitive (and the same goes for PC on any%).
But, the PS4 boards may look empty if we do it. At the same time, "resetting" the boards for PC could attract new runners.
Edit: We could as well just ban quitouts. It also kinda punishes runners with slower PCs (e.g. no SSD).
Thought I’d share some of the timings I gathered and general thoughts on routes. Here’s a spreadsheet I started for that purpose, if someone wants to contribute, just drop me a message (Twitch, Twitter, wherever). Maybe someone will find something I missed using these.
And in regards to Any% hard; doing Gol-Hevel instead of Avarice takes about the same time, so you may kill whichever you prefer. See video below.
Requesting mod status for Titan Souls: http://www.speedrun.com/titan_souls Tried to contact the (apparently) only active mod via Twitch more than a week ago, still no reply.
The door staying open is indeed something I missed, scratch that idea then. Back to grinding out a decent sludge fight : 3
Since we're using RTA; couldn't we shift the start to the first checkpoint (i.e. run to the first checkpoint, quit game, start timer on loading the save)? I know we already have many runs using the current start, but depending on how many people still run the game it might save (real) time on Sludge resets.
I'd just like to hear what others think of it.
