1.004 mentions "Today's patch also fixes a lot of out-of-world errors and soft-lock issues" - anything relevant to the any% speedrun? I've kept my PS5 from applying the update for now, but goodness knows I can't keep doing that forever.
Hello! I was doing runs until I soft-locked and had to apply the patch. My PB is post-patch. I haven't noticed anything really, but I suspect the church escape might be a bit finicky at times now... although I'm unsure if it's the patch or just me being bad. I would get it easily and consistently, and I now have issues getting it quickly sometimes.
I've had no problems with the patch. I might keep away from updating on console, as it's very hard to downpatch and there might be future discoveries that won't work on newer patches.

I've got every trick from the Guide tutorial learned except the very first one (cannot get the Garden OoB for the life of me). I think I'll be running this game somewhat soon.
As I suspected, I was unable to keep the patch from applying long-term. I've gotten every trick post-patch (even the Garden OoB, still terrible at it though). I feel like I can cosign on the church escape being trickier? But I'll keep at it. I've got an interesting idea for this game I'd love to share with the community soon.
