I just set an incentive for me to finally record a real, legit any% run. I just ordered an R4, and I'll be using it to dump an actual legit rom of Blender Bros. None of that Mode 7 text at the beginning. Once I have a nice rom to use, I'll start TASing it. The R4 arrives on Monday, so that's my deadline to upload a run.
I just realized that now that there's a second runner there's really no reason to have a placeholder time. I'll claim WR when I have something to show for it. But until I record an actual run I can't be like "oh look I've actually got it".
I've been considering running glitchless, and one thing's been bugging me. Why are portal bumps banned in glitchless, when the advantages they give are acknowledged in the in-game gold medal challenges? I can understand why they'd otherwise be considered glitching, but doesn't the in-game acknowledgement change the situation?
I'm not trying to challenge the rules or anything. I have no complaint with not using portal bumps in glitchless. I'm just a little bit confused and figured I'd go ahead and ask. It seems like if portal bumps are banned, peek-a-portal would be banned for similar reasons.
