P-Rank times are only available on levels where ranks can be achieved. No rank means no P rank. As Dryzalar said, if we do add a way to submit precise mode times then it would be a contingency like 4-S.

yup its pretty easy,

First I would recommend killing the two strays in the hall to get them out of the way but its not entirely necessary

Second go over to the far door and get close enough to open it. This deloads the previous room which is necessary for opening the hole to get oob.

lastly get on top of the previous door without opening it. The best way of doing this is to, from the far door, slide back towards the previous room and launch a core eject at your feet. Then continue to hold slide until you hit the far wall above the door where it should automatically force you to stand and you can jump oob from there. Alternatively you can move beside the first door and do a dive (Press jump and slide on the same frame) to get onto the door.

Just make sure that you dont open the first door after you open the second otherwise you need to go back to the second to unload the first area again.

We do accept runs outside of the top 10 without the tab menu open but it is best practice to keep it open as it can help you to understand how fast a run though a level is going.

"running act 3" right now is just doing an Violence layer run which you are free to do and submit to that specific board. The board for act 3 runs wont be available until the rest of the layers for it are out.

The one in 1-2 specifically was patched in the most recent semi major update (full arsenal update 4/15/24).

The wall was "untagged" ie it didnt have the proper tags for the collision system so crashing to the wall in the right way could cause the placement check to fail and put the player on the wrong side. This was remedied likely to keep players from bypassing the intended way of completing the challenge.

This sort of skip is still possible in 1-1 by the secret in the wall where you place the red key. (a demonstration can be found in full game runs)

There were several other forms of rocket clips but most of them have been patched by this point.

Yes the text is framerate dependent but just saying that isn't helpful.

In order to get the fast text you need to in the graphics options set "Target Framerate" to "None" and make sure "Vsync" is disabled. This will let the game try to run as fast as it can.

From here you can do a few extra things to try and squeak out a few extra frames if you need to (though if you cant click fast enough then it wont really matter) You can set the Resolution of the game to its lowest possible setting (640x480). You can also set downscaling to its lowest possible value (36P). And lastly make sure no other PSX settings are enabled.

This is just to reduce overdraw as much as possible. These values would also not be allowed in other levels and are only allowed here because this level overrides them for all important parts. And like I said outside of uncapping the framerate its not really important unless you are able to click fast enough.

That is not a mod. That is the built in weapon wheel which you can access by holding either the Next Weapon, Previous Weapon, or Last Weapon buttons.

No mods are allowed for any reason, not even BepInEx.

  1. You can do that but obviously it's a bit cumbersome so see 2

  2. Yes there is an auto splitter for live split so if you want to see your total time as your are running though I would recommend that. To use it just >edit splits> set your game to Ultrakill and it should automatically appear and you can enable it from there.

  3. Yes speedruns for the latest patch are allowed. There might be an embargo once the game comes out of EA bc there is a lot of stuff I want to rework but that wont be for a while. You will have to compete with runs from previous patches but with the new weapons and stuff you should be able to find ways to save time for yourself.

Runs done on the HD version of the game are not allowed on this board as the HD version runs on an older version of the SDK version of the game which is also not allowed.

I do plan on getting a board together for the SDK version which will allow the HD Version but I am currently still waiting for them to finish fully combining the two. While the last update did increase the support its still not to the point where you can play with the HD changes directly on the SDK version which is where it needs to be.

Just keep in mind that speedruns must be done on a clean version of the game so you need to keep a clean version of the game separate.

Also most "room triggers" are just the triggers around doors which are easily visible from oob with Fullbright on. Triggers like the one used in 2-4 P% oob are a very rare exception and runners have already combed over everything with the mod but if you want to double check for yourself with the mod then feel free.

Just to clarify the rule is not "no peripherals" it is "Abuse of peripherals that provide a distinct mechanical advantage is not allowed"

All mice, keyboards, controllers, monitors, and whatever else you can plug into your computer are peripherals. We do not care what all you use to play the game since everyone is going to have some preference. As long as you are not abusing functions of said peripherals that over-enables you to do things outside of what is considered general functionality then you are fine.

That being said Mouse4 and Mouse5 are completely OK to use and I use both to switch between arms as well as switch between alt fires.

What would not be ok are things like built in macros, using a custom built keyboard where every key outputs the same key even if one of the keys are already pressed, and Turbo buttons.
