The Top Gear: Dare Devil leaderboard is now up and active. As the admin for the Top Gear Series feel free to purpose any category ideas to add. Currently there is only Any% as I don't run the game myself, so I added it as a placeholder name with placeholder Any% rules. The Discord as of this new thread currently does not have a Top Gear: Dare Devil sub-category to divide routes/runs/strategies, however, will be added within the following week (schedule on that promise is tentative).

Came across this game earlier last week, and decided to try and make a "Win a Game" TAS -> User File #638374110737335910 - TASVideos TAS Timing = 11:36.94 | RTA Timing = 11:01
I gained interest in the GBA version for DKC due to searching what the run was like. Recently I took notice that the WR beat the previous TAS and decided to try my hand at updating it. This was honestly my first go at it so hopefully you'll find it enjoyable.

It's been quite awhile since I've wrote anything regarding the TAS for this game. I've taken a considerable break from the game and just now re-engaging with the game.
The TAS is the one I've been working on since mid 2022 after implementing new strategies and wall clips into the run. The TAS nowadays looks a little different, the routing still remains the same but overall better racing is occurring.
Most of this will be the best iteration yet, and most likely my last in terms of optimization. I've been at this now for awhile and I feel like this one will end up being "the one" so to speak.
I'm unsure as of right now what the final time will be, however it might end up somewhere with a 2:03 maybe even a 2:02 if everything ends up working. I've been pushing for a long time to see if breaking the sub 2 hr barrier is even doable, the game is quite long and the tricks don't end up being easy.
Hopefully if you read this, maybe by the time you do or are now the TAS is still in production or better yet finished. I do hope you all enjoy this last TAS I'll do for the game, as it will show my best efforts applied.

Found out that every 18 frames the lap counter will increase with the patterns of: S_S -> 18 frames S_S (S = Start)
if there happens to be improvements feel free to either suggest or improve this.

GBA Forum: Now that this board is for the GBA version, I'll transfer my TAS forum over here (if possible).
Idea: I've been messing around with using Force Save None in the GBA Emulator settings, which decreases the amount of time it takes for the "Saving" after each level finishes.
How "ForceNone Save Type" Works: it takes 217 frames for the "Saving" to appear and disappear after each level. By eliminating the save function that the GBA has for games, it won't save progress at all and save 217 frames or 3.38 seconds a level.
Ideal Outcome: Mathematically speaking, 217 frames times 6 levels = 1,191 frames or almost 20 seconds. (From Story Mode Select = 19.57 seconds) (From Power On = 19.94 seconds).
World 1 -> 1,191 Frames 19.57s World 2 -> 2,604 Frames 43.37s World 3 -> 3,906 Frames 1:05.26m Etc.
TAS Movie Rules: (and General Guideline) The general movie guidelines says that: "the BIOS can't be changed" & the ROM has to be [!] = Perfect Condition
