I posted the new buyer's guide in resources, it doesn't mention anything about the software used to record outside of capture cards.
In vanilla SM64, an Expansion Pak does absolutely nothing.

If you're on emulator, first of all just use NTSC, but there is an autosplit program in the resources section of this page for it.
PAL will probably have trouble with Autosplit64, because the aspect ratio is different, as well as the placement of HUD icons.
most of the mods are already friends to begin with so there is some semblance of trust, as well as all have played the game for multiple years
well, for starters it's not really safe to add someone who appears to have never ran the game as a mod.
