I wanted to share a run done on the Switch version by a Japanese runner, the game is very fast now.
Ps2 with fast disk speed enabled is fastest. PS3 is slow unfortunately. I do have a question regarding the ps1 version and I didn't think it would be wise to make a new thread. Are there any notable differences between the US and JP versions for speedrunning? Thanks.
Hopefully its okay to ask in this thread, do you happen to have any public notes/guides for this game? Thanks
I second this, there needs to be some updates to the rules and the categories don't make sense.
Frame Skip and Turbo are 2 different things yet the 2x category has the runner using Turbo and not Frame Skip. From what I can see no one is using Frame Skip so who knows if its even banned?
I can't believe that resident evil has like 3 billion version categories and people are still asking for more. There are so many options to run these games for a European player and still be on the leaderboard, PAL is not only broken but also just not needed. You are free to make your own leaderboard, this website is not the law.
I would like to see glitchless too, I'm interested in that or the dynamo skip routes.
With all these categories it makes it hard for someone like me to find the actual best executed run of PE2. Could epsxe and 10x seek speed be merged or are they just not comparable?
-
M1 Crane Skip (15~ seconds save)
-
M1 NA No Sniper Hack (Like 2~ seconds slower then JP optimally)
-
M2 Small Jump (Saves like 7~ seconds)
-
M4 JP/Alternate NA Skip (20+ for JP, 3 seconds slower on NA vs. first try optimal skip)
-
M9 OoB Skip (It's only like 10~ seconds. Shame you can't go down further)
-
Easier M9 Skip
-
I found many useless OoBs, especially in M4. Example:
So if I wanted to start runs now what exactly should my settings look like? Is the WR run by @Sena using the correct settings?
Also some people mentioned what would happen to the other runs if rules changed. You can simply remove them, there doesn't need to be a category just for every setting lol.
I have seen this happen before, I don't remember who got it. Unfortunately this just soft locks the game as far as we know.
Maybe I am misunderstanding but why can't you make a rule to set Seek Speedup to None?
Hey. I didn't notice that you don't receive an IGT if you use continues. In that case I think it is best to separate console and emulation but I understand if you don't want to bother doing it since the community is very small. Thank you.
While I'm here, I have to ask. Do you know how to get extra credits? It happened to me once were I randomly started with 4 credits, I didn't save and now I don't know how to get it back.
This game gives you an IGT time at the end of credits. Considering emulation is much faster then console, it would be a good timing method to incorporate. Also, separation of emulation and console is probably a good idea if not using IGT.
- Is turbo/auto-fire allowed?
- How do you do so much damage with him is it mash or timing 3 bullets consecutively?
Done. Added a Sub Category for any% Not going to bother with Final% as its meme anyway.
