Make sure you have the correct version of sodium. I once used the wrong version of sodium for a month straight without realizing it and had similar issues. You need to have the backport version by MrMangoHands: https://github.com/mrmangohands/sodium-fabric/releases/tag/mc1.16.1-0.1.1-SNAPSHOT%2B2021-02-12
@Tutterey if you are using a reset macro, then make sure to adjust the delay because at 30fps, the video might miss somethings. I record at 60fps, but I still use a 70ms delay just to be safe, but also I don't mind waiting a tad longer.
I recommend using seth blings speedrun datapack: . It's not a map, but a data pack. You can teleport to a random bastion, fortress, village, etc. It is very useful and I highly recommend it. Hope this helps!
@xBlitzy1 Yeah those are the mods I installed. Its turns out I was using an outdated version of all 3 mods for around a month plus. I just googled sodium and downloaded it. Never really knew which one to download. 1k+ seeds on the wrong damn mod version. Well whatever, whoops I guess.
@Pastapalads Yeah apparently I was using the 1.16.1 version from last July or something. I just installed the new version, and it definitely works. Thanks for the suggestion.
@AdamVonBadam "I turned off entity culling..." Also, I already found the problem anyway. I was apprently using a very out of date sodium version. I just installed the new version and tested it, and it definitely works.
Well there are only 2 files for sodium: https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/sodium/files. I've been using the older one for 1.16.1.
Also, I know there is a bastion within my render distance because E is greater than M+C by around 30.
Almost every single nether if there is a bastion within range of my render distance, whenever I e-ray, I will usually get a max entity count of 20 or less. For example, there was this one nether where the bastion was 190 blocks away from where I scanned (I checked afterwards), and I scanned absolutely everywhere, getting a max entity count of 18. Mods I am using: Sodium, Lithium, and Phosphor. I turned off entity culling and set my entity distance to 500%. I am also using Java 16 if that even matters. Any help is appreciated, thanks!
@NoseQ I've tried staying around 70-80 blocks away and launching my pearl from there, and I still end up a little too late even with an optimized pearl throw.
@Windmolema so it's ok to be constantly running back and forth from z>71 to around between the 2 closest pillars to match the dragons movement and catch the perch?
I've been practicing end fights for a while and I have been going north/south. I am always late to the perch every single time. I believe north/south is quicker because it perches lower, but how much time does it actually save? Also, I've been practicing with no pearls, so do you think it's a good idea to do north/south with pearls and east/west without pearls? I know I could kill an enderman in a boat, but everytime I try to kill an enderman, with enough distance to make the perch in case he does perch, the dragon will fire ball me, which means I cant kill the enderman. Thanks!
1.17 also includes everything from the 1.16 update. So bastions would be tough.
@Roytaro64 I am not using that version. I did watch a video that said to turn it on or whatever.
@Acnnx can you explain why 16 render distance is better? I know I see everyone using it for the nether, but zI never knew why.
@acnnx my render distance is always set to 24 chunks.
I don't know if I am just unlucky or what, but I can never ever find a bastion off of nether spawn using e ray. I am using all 3 caffeine mods. In settings I have entity distance set to 500% and I have entity culling turned off. Any other settings I should mess with? or am I just unlucky?
@tntfalle it wasn't lol. That was across a lava lake from me. I find zombie pigmen hanging out like this from time to time.
"Hey a bastion": https://imgur.com/a/JK5rLmy Nope just 40 pigs hanging out.
@Alivingcreatur so for step #2, would I just be moving 20 blocks away at 90 degrees from the angle of the eye? Also instead of memorizing the table, is there an equation I can use?
