I've been running on the prototype version of Crackout offline and I was thinking about maybe submitting runs, but I see that the prototype version is forbidden? What are the reasons for banning it? I did full runs of it before and didnt notice anything weird.
Hey! We are playing the PAL version, this is the official version of this game, released in Europe. The prototype version is faster and less known. If you really want to use this version, it won't be a problem to create a separate category for it.
I overlooked my ROM being the prototype too >_> Thanks for catching that Ryu~ At least I have a run ready if you do make a new category, but I'm not sure how essential it'd be. I guess I'll find out today ;) Gotta get a run done with the right game this time!
Right off the bat: The prototype version has significantly more limited paddle response in regards to the angles the ball can be bounced at relative to the PAL release. It does seem a bit slower, and is running 50FPS.
Yeah well the problem is, I can't play on the original version, because I am playing on a famicom, it's really too bad that I can not run this game. :(
I like the idea of separating the regions into categories so more runners have the opportunity to play this.
Yeah that'd be great I think. It's sad to see, that there are no any% runs on here. I've done multiple any% runs offline, but I wouldnt be able to submit anything atm. I am too busy right now, but I'd definetly come back in the future.
