Jafar's Palace New Skip?

I've been messing around with a concept in Jafar's Palace and clipped through a wall. I made a video to explain it to my community. Has anyone attempted this clip?

Woah, interesting. I'll leave it to Svipur to play around with, he may be able to get it to work.

We have a similar clip in Cool Spot - where the top of a wall meets a floor. For that game you need to get about 2/3 of the character to be above the floor. And it only seemed to work when jumping up from below. Considering that both games were built on the same engine, I would guess that you would want a similar setup.

This looks ace, but sadly I just can't seem to find a good jump-off spot to make it work. ;(

Me and Insom toyed with a similar idea at the start of the Dungeon level as well, right at the top of the first climb. But ultimately neither jumping nor walking off the platform and immediately turning around was good enough.

Great watch and very enticing to try. I think I will also give this a go and see what I can come up with. If I find anything, I will report back with some details.

Edit:

So after messing around with it for a little bit, I've come to the same conclusion as @Svipur.

I've tried a few different things and the one that seems to have the best results is to wait on the carpet until it's as far right as it will go, wait for it to reverse direction, and attempt to make a short jump from the carpet to the wall.

I have not been able to actually get it to work with this method, but this seems the most-likely to work.

The things I've noticed on why this method may not work are:

  • If you jump too high, Aladdin will land on the platform.
  • If you jump too low, Aladdin will land back on the carpet.
  • The carpet moves in a diagonal direction when moving away from the wall, this brings Aladdin above the platform with any jump height.

Another method I've attempted is something a bit unusual, but I gave it a shot, anyway.

I placed Aladdin on the platform before the carpet goes up against the wall, attempted to use the sword as a way to get Aladdin back on the carpet. I was sort of hoping for some sort of glitch to push Aladdin through the floor with this method, since it changes Aladdin's X/Y-Values.
