Hey y’all. I’m new to this speedrun thing. Are you able to submit runs via phone cam. Also what’s the rules to do that? Do I have to show myself while playing? I can find ways but just wanna know. Thanks for the help yall. (:
As long as the video is watchable and in 1 piece, not cut into parts, it should be fine
PS4 (and I assume 5, haven't really looked though) has the built-in option to stream to twitch. That would surely allow for a better quality of video than a phone camera.
So if I steam on PS5 is there a way to show the timer as well? Or how do I got about that part of it. Thanks for all the help!
Nope, no timer for PS5 streams sadly. If you have a computer, and a good internet connect, then you can use PS Remote Play, and then stream your PS5 to your PC, and then you can use OBS and get the timer in.
@SpiderMatt thanks brother. I’m just wondering if I did my twitch thing how would I know the time I got. As for them also you know? Sorry I’m a noob out here.
if you have a computer or laptop you can use livesplit, so you can know your time, and also know how fast you do each "split" which is just a name for a certain amount of the run. You can also just use a phone timer if you do not want splits.....or you can download "FramePerfect" which is an app.
And in any case, verifying the time is part of verifying the run. If you PB, and you highlight the run (btw, if you haven't, make sure you enable VOD saving on twitch, it is NOT enabled by default), you can check by the timestamps how long the run is. If the run starts at 1:15 on the VOD and ends at 2:52:18, then you can report the run as 2:51:03. If that's not quite right, the mods will fix it.
Please downpatch to a previous version since the load remover currently doesn't work on the latest patch. Hopefully it will be fixed at a later date.
