will i get a pb for clean%?

United States

I already discovered “brush skip.” I hold the record at 001ms.

I discovered you can start the brush in 2nd gear right from the get-go, netting me a 000 ms WR. Any% is truly dead

it doesn't matter, i can easily get sub ms record soon. any% is gonna be broken wide open

I managed to lower my any% to less than a second, but my last dentist visit was exceptionally painful, so now I'm focusing on the 100% category. My pb is 3 minutes.

i might go for that category as well. of course there is a little too much debate over what IS 100% i think i'll be able to fair just fine.

It's a real shame the devs forced the aging update on us, speedrunners playing at lower ages have a clear advantage. We'll need a category split.

Scotland

Guys, technically as the timer doesn't start until you begin brushing, I set up a save file which already had a brush/floss/mouthwash regime stored, touched my tooth with the brush and instantly got the record.

I think we need to start discussing new categories such as NG+, Max% and any%(filling-less).

Does the timer start when you start brushing or when u start putting toothpaste on ur brusher? Also, are your teeth required to be clean for the timer to stop?

I went for the wrong warp, I just removed all of mine. Their stuck in a hardlock within a display on my coffee table.

yes, by and large the timer starts as soon as you start brushing and ends at the very second your teeth become pearly whites.

does using an electric toothbrush count as tool-assistance?

Turkey

that's a complicated question because electric toothbrushes doesn't actually brush the teeth themselves but instead makes them more effective, this means that, for me at least, they're just superior in clean100%. not any%.

Scotland

I would say an electric toothbrush is the same as using a 3rd party controller or emulator. Yes, purists would prefer you use the original hardware, but times are constantly changing and if it is something that will reduce physical strain on runners then I think it needs to be supported. It is up to you if you want to use the retro brushes, but in my opinion, we shouldn't be forcing people to do so in 2021

Anyone, thoughts on the Dentures emulator? Should we allow this?

Personally i like Dentur.es but it does allowed for TAB (Tool Assisted Brushing) to be done so i'm not too confident in it being in any main categories

We could have a separate category/board for Dentur.es so as to have the best of both worlds. Let's allow accessibility people! :)

That's a good point. It's also good for IL's because of the timing protocols it includes

Lads the toothbrushing devs have released yet another crippling update, expiry dates on toothpaste.
