Okay so, while I'm not going to complain about ads on the site, I'm going to complain about the content in the actual ads. Now, I'm aware that the age limit is 13 on SR.C, but I think this should be brought to attention of the community. In the ads that pop up on my screen, I'm plagued with ads about buying (now let's be mature here people) adult products. I'm personally not that bothered by this, but on a site with people around 13 (and probably even younger), I don't really think it's appropriate for them, even if they have been exposed to it before. I'm also aware the site needs funding, but if you're going to make a site about speedrunning games, then please don't show me an ad about vibrators while I'm trying to view the Minecraft Bedrock Leaderboards and Forums. It's kinda inconvenient. (Also please don't ban my account for this, I just wanna make sure the site mods and devs know about this)

i tried turning off my adblock and the ads dont even work for me :P

@CyanWes Lol, you don't understand there is nothing like that on the SRC website, you are talking about a clear fake. But let's be honest, site staff need to moderate not only the leaderboards (which also have erotic categories), but also the advertisements themselves.

@SkittlesCat83 that is something I didn't really think about. Anyone can really look at the site logged out, no matter their age. I think that's all the more reason to remove them. Also, yes, I'm sure there are plenty of people who don't want to see porn or sex stuff on a website for speedrunning, so I guess even if the user is over or at the age of 13, it will probably still cause a problem for people on the site.

@Parasxos yes I believe that is also worthy of note. On a site with a 13 limit age restriction (and underage people who aren't logged in), I don't think an 18+ gambling ad should be on the screen for them to click on.

I've seen the take "ads are just based off the searches you make" a lot, and it pisses me off every time I see it. Most people getting these ads aren't searching up porn, but even if that was the case, speedrun.com should not be showing porn ads to minors under any circumstances!

So, I just got an ad about "The orgasm collection". I didn't screenshot it cuz I was clicking on something else and the page refreshed to a new one, but I think just that ad alone tell me there's something that needs to be done about this. I don't believe there should be an ad titled "the orgasm collection" and advertised to a bunch of minors.

This is a major issue that has been made worse by the lack of updates in over a month. It's likely that this will drive users away from the site. This is unacceptable, especially since the majority of users are minors. Since the top games on this site are played by minors, having these kinds of ads is not wanted by anyone, and even users over 18 years old will find them derogatory to the overall user experience.
