getting over there is easy, but that bee is just so annoying... btw fami, can you make a video explaining how to do the clip using the bee in 1-6? I want to incorporate that into runs but I'm finding bee clips very difficult.
No problem. I'm the resident billy PC expert, so just ask me if you have any other billy pc questions.
The billy configurator is a tad weird when it comes to switching to a controller, but try doing options ->keyconfig, then press the control pad button at the bottom. It'll ask you to assign a button to actions or whatever, but just push any button on your controller and it'll detect that it's there and rebind all the stuff to your controller. You may have to fix one or two inputs, but that usually works best.
I thought squid did the double full egg bounce like everyone else.
Although I've gotten over there much faster, this is the best bee baiting attempt I was able to get. I can totally get over there like every time now, which was most of my problem during these 90 minutes. It would probably just take another quick session to get the bee bait down. I see this being pretty rta viable considering I already have 2/3 of the trick consistent.
Here's the variant on the egg ricochet, it's a diagonal egg ricochet, which means you have to press a a bit earlier than usual, like the first few frames of hitting the egg.
So if you can post a video showing where you'd be clipping through the 7-1 wall fami, that'd be helpful also.
You don't actually need to do a pedestal torch bounce to get up to the 7-1 ledge. I found that by doing a variant of the normal egg ricochet (run into egg and jump), you can perform the trick with 2 smaller eggs. So if Fami can clip through the wall, you could potentially clip through and then just do the egg ricochet rather than an egg shoot ricochet or any other more difficult strat. Danxavier and I looked into this on his last billy stream, but he was trying the standard strat. I'll post a video soon from my stream showcasing the ricochet variant.
¤Chick route is no longer faster, TAS is actually smarter than I thought.
That could save around 45 seconds if the clip is where I think it is, but I don't really know where you are in the video.
Mr Fami, please only post these strats in either discord (which squid isn't in) or in a private message to me.
Honestly, I got my strat twice within 10 tries, but haven't gotten the egg bounce once. I'd say rather than a fast strat, this is more of just a... beginner-friendly strat or something. Here's the stats you can edit on PC btw http://imgur.com/a/fJ4oy
The enemies have random movements out of a set, so sure you could learn all the sets or take the time to manipulate each of them, but the egg isn't ever gonna be something you have to manipulate. Also, I meant inconsistent for 5-3 as though we're talking about someone bad at the game... like me, who's never pulled it off once. On PC knockback clipping is like much easier, but clipping through things like the gate in 1-1 is tighter I'm pretty sure (I have done it multiple times on gc, but never on pc). It has something to do with the "clipping" stat that you can change upon starting the PC version, higher values are easier for knockback, but lower values make stupid stuff like my egg roll through a fence. The only time I would think this could speed up times would be clipping through the 7-1 wall because you can skip waiting for the spawn animation and slow movement of the hopping ones.
Just thought of this, the 5-3 puzzle board can be skipped by clipping instead of the very inconsistent egg ricochet, which was previously impossible due to the lack of enemies.
Got it to work with an egg 2 sizes larger, pushed me through the wall in 1-3, so it's more consistent than the enemy manipulation, and skips having to hatch any eggs. Still not sure if it works with the one size larger or any other size combination. (I did level 1 with level 3 combo)
I'm not sure, but I'm thinking there's a way to get the enemy knockback clip without the need of an enemy.
if you shoot a larger egg, then switch to a smaller egg, then you jump when the large egg returns, it breaking your egg gives you the same knockback as an enemy, but with no damage. so I'm just wondering if someone can test out whether that clips or not cause then the 1-1 gate clip can be done like that instead of the precise pixel jump-shoot, 1-5 won't need to rely on enemies, and 1-6's second and third clip could change
I feel like those and the slides are perhaps the most IL worthy levels, and don't know why they wouldn't be on the boards
