Hi there, I'd like to consider running the full game at some point soon however there seems to be no proper route guide for Any% and if someone does have one any chance you could put a link here so that others like myself can download and use it? Many Thanks

Unfortunately no as if we remove that then all of the other sections disappear unfortunately :/
So in the last year I've held a rallying speedrunning marathon based around the Colin McRae Rally/DIRT Series and this time we are back for a third installment with McRaeathon 3.
We are raising money this time around and are allowing all off-road racing/rallying games so if that sounds like the kind of marathon you'd like to be a part of be sure to check out the official thread and submit some of your favourite runs today! :D

In terms of what I used, originally I used ePSXe V1.9.0 with the SCPH1001 BIOS when I ran on emulator. However when I moved to console and did my PB run I ran on a NTSC PS2 Slim (Model SCPH-90001) with FDS and the NTSC version of the game, hope this helps :)

Quick Rules and Guidelines:
- Make sure to keep chat sensible at all times (No talk of hate speech or political chatter)
- Jokes are fine as long as they don't go too far (No racial jokes or religious jokes of any kind)
- All entrants are allowed to enter however we do have to put an age limit on things here, minimum age for participation is 15 Years of Age or higher.
- Games can be run on emulators if necessary
- We allow all runners as long as they feel they can run their games properly and can keep under the estimate they set themselves :)
- We are going to be working alongside BSG Marathon for this event so all money raised will go straight to the Dutch Gaming Society (DGS)
If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to ask them here and we will get back to answering them as quickly as possible! :)
PAL usually runs at 50FPS max and NTSC runs at 60FPS max. I'd have it set to 60FPS so that you're good all round.
So a few weeks ago before the new year I had a thought about some extra categories for the game that might interest a few people :D
The categories will most likely be Misc. as I don't think they need to be main categories due to their length, the ideas though? Complete a city (Complete Miami, Complete San Francisco, Complete Los Angeles and Complete New York)
I have done runs on the PS1 version of the game and have a rough idea of where the runs should start and where they should finish but I think it would be better to hear other people's opinions on this one so thoughts anyone? :)
Hi there, unfortunately the game series of Colin McRae Rally does not have a series moderator after looking at it recently and I would like to take on the role of series manager along with a fellow runner (Josef733) If this could somehow be sorted out it means we can sort out a few things in the series, such as adding different versions of some of the games and adding some of the newer games when they come out :)
My personal favourite is the original Colin McRae Rally for PlayStation, we have a couple of runners but could always do with a few more. The shortest category we have is Rally School % (Complete all Rally School courses) but the shortest main category we have is Championship% (Novice) which takes around an hour but can be quite competitive if you can make it through. Would be good to see some more competition for this game really as think it is a classic rally game that a lot of gamers will remember playing either through their childhood or when they were living through the 90's ;) Leaderboard link: https://www.speedrun.com/Colin_McRae_Rally

If that's the case then I can't really suggest anything else besides using the Unlock All Cars cheat which will unlock it for you, sorry :/
It is possible, the easiest way to unlock it I believe is to win one of the championships but I am unsure as to which one you must win to unlock the car :/
Recently I've been thinking about new categories that we could have for this game, mainly for the PSP version. These ideas for categories are as follows:
-
All Treasure Arenas (Complete all Treasure Arenas as fast as possible, choice can be made as to whether to start this from a new game or using a pre-existing one. The difference here would be that if you used a pre-existing save such as a completed all missions one then this run could be finished within around 20-30 minutes whereas the other option would take about 1 hour 20 mins ish from a new save)
-
Any% NG+ (Complete all levels aside from Treasure Arenas, run would start at The Prison and finish at defeating The Kraken. Run would approximately take near to a little over an hour)
Any thoughts on both of these ideas would be much appreciated :)
The date and time (Times in 24h format) The Driver Marathon Start Time: Saturday 9th February 2019 - 12:00 GMT (12 Noon UK Time) The Driver Marathon End Time: Sunday 10th February 2019 - 22:00 GMT (10PM UK Time)
Location: Twitch (Online)
Quick Rules and Guidelines:
-
Make sure to keep chat sensible at all times (No talk of hate speech or political chatter)
-
Jokes are fine as long as they don't go too far (No racial jokes or religious jokes of any kind)
-
Mic and Webcam are optional but not necessary.
-
Glitches are allowed.
-
All Runs will use the Real Time Attack (RTA) timing convention, meaning runs are timed using an external timer (such as WSplit or Llanfair) which can't be paused during the run. The timer does not have to be shown on the video, but the time must be verifiable.
-
No cheats are allowed for any run unless the run is purely cheat related (For example Cheat% etc.)
-
Games can be run on emulators if necessary however if this is the case then you will need to use the following emulators and the correct setups accordingly:
- Visual Boy Advance (Gameboy Advance Games only)
- Gambatte (Gameboy Colour Games only)
- Xebra or ePSXe (PS1 Games only)
- PCSX2 (PS2 Games only)
If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to ask them here and we will get back to answering them as quickly as possible! :)
Ahh well I can give it a try and get back to you on that but I'm not so sure, at least the PAL version definitely works though so there's that ?
