Hey welcome to the community! What games are you planning to run? With that information we might be able to figure out some advice.

On Twitch, click Dashboard then under "Title this Broadcast" title it select the game your are playing below, then click update.

Then let them have it, and put MM2, DKC etc. here anyways. They can have their clique, and our boards are still accurate as long as we have the actual world record documented in 1st.

When the remainder of the community starts submitting the times here, they will abandon the other site. Admittedly, it's kind of a bully move to force them out, but hey, capitalism!

Optimally for the community as a whole, it would be best for all speedrun submissions/records to be documented at a single site (what I assume is the end goal here). This easily allows new runners to know where to find info, and seasoned runners to contribute to the community Unfortunately, if people in other groups don't want to integrate their communities over then, that makes it difficult for all community members who aren't monetarily involved for numerous reasons.

My personal opinion, if the true goal here is to establish a go to directory for the entire speedrunning community, is to allow the games here anyway, put knowledgeable, active mods in charge of said games, document the actual WR (1st place is the only one NEEDED) for accuracy reasons, and let people submit here if they wish. Slowly people we move over (typically it starts by submitting times to both communities) and will stay with the one with the most attentive staff (hopefully us). Keep in mind I've only been active here for a short time, but as far as record keeping is concerned, you're hard pressed to find a more active, diverse and helpful community (Note: I am part of the MM leaderboards as well as I slowrun MM2).

End my one serious post for the day -_- Todd

Welcome to the community! I'm new here as well, but everyone is pretty helpful, I'm sure they'll chime in soon if there is a place to post about it.

Kirby's Dream Land for Gameboy clocks in at 12-13 minutes for a decent run, that's a little past your time range, but it's a fun game. You can probably beat it in 15-20 minutes blind lol

Most emulators have a record option built in if you can do your run on one, that would be the easiest option I think.

Welcome to the community! I'm new to the forums myself, though not to speedrunning. Good luck running, communities grow one runner at a time!

The border rule seems like a simple fix while the drag down menu is being explored more.

On the other end of the spectrum, it might be easier to compile a list of "accepted" emulators per console rather than identify every emulator that isn't acceptable. (ie. BGB and Gambette are the only acceptable emu's for future GB/C runs) I'm not particularly fond of that idea, but it should at least be thrown out.

There are certain instances where I can understand using a segment of a run submitted in a different category.

Something like using your FF7 escape from midgar time from a full run or running a Mega Man game and submitting your 8-robot master time seems like it should be ok.

Hey everyone Todd here.

I've been speedrunning Kirby's Dreamland for about 2 years now (and I'm still bad at it). I also enjoy running some Mega Man series games and I'm learning ALTTP. I've been interested in speedrunning since Twitch picked up popularity around 2012, and I picked up Mega Man 2 and Dreamland since I already owned the games.

I'm right there with you, just found the forums side of the site a few days ago XD.

I've never played Jak before, but Dragon Ball games are normally fun (Dragon Ball Advance Adventure is awesome)

Welcome to the forums!

Hello everyone! I've been a member here for a while but just noticed that we had a forums a few days ago (I need to pay better attention lol). I figured I might as well say hello and see how everyone's doing. Based on what I've i look seen, this is a very productive and active speedrun community. What games do you all run? I normally run Kirby's Dreamland and Mega Man 2, but I'm learning some other games too that I'll stream at some point. I look forward to chatting with you all. -Todd

NOTE: I probably missed a sticky somewhere, but why are there no Mega Man 2 leader boards on the site?
