Rules still got me a little confused. Category rules say MesenRTA is acceptable, but game rules explicitly ban Mesen for sited reasons. Is RTA the acceptable version or were the rule sets not updated together?
Agreed. It is incumbent on the users to make the website functional for themselves... solid design indeed.
I can't click the X to remove it and cant click anything under it. This site has almost become ccompletely unusable 1 update at a time.
@AK_Potatoes don't touch the mushrooms... ;)
Just a shot in the dark. The big thing that made this faster was the final fygar lining up perfectly for the kill. Nothing up to that really mattered probably, lol.
I've found dozens of ROMs for the US and JP versions of this game, but all of them are SGB Enhanced. Anyone have a proper rom I could use for speedruns or suggestions?
Couldn't have broke the 1:20 mark if Beard and Zarc didn't hold my hand every step of the way. I look forward to the imminent bops forsure.
The rules are a bit unclear on start and end time. Prolly doesnt matter much usually, but the map fades almost a dozen frames before kuros renders into the game. Additionally, he moves without player control for several frames as the game starts. Is start time when he is fully rendered, when he start walking, when the player actually has control (realy hard to discern this), or when the map screen starts to fade after start press? For the end time, i assume the frame the screen starts to fade regardless off a glitched quick fade happens or not is when time ends. Any clarification would help and maybe would be good to add in the official rules for the few sick in the head individuals willing to play this mess of jank, lol.
If it's added as a category, I will back Kuma's request up and also do a pacifist run. This looks like a rough category, but 2 votes are better than 1 :)
I'd agree with NP that the issue is more with the naming and rule set of the category. Most game will have things like "good ending", "bad ending", "true ending", "best ending". If the ending is what defines the run, then just update the rules and/or category name and everything will be more consistent. Very cool Idea for the Nuke by Ness though.
This game is brutally long and it is one of the reasons its the digdug I dont play. In the end, it is a decision for Carter44 to make. I do not speak for they in any way.
If you do an actual speedrun of the game, I will also submit a run. Then, together, as actual runners of the game, we can propose some newer silly categories. I am not opposing your idea, but it makes little sense to add a category for 1 person to have an easier way to get a run on the board. Together, we can make a better case for more options.
I would recommend learning the real speedrun of the game before worrying about Ils too much. They are a massive burden on the mods when used for cheap WRs that nobody else bothers with. This game hasnt had a runner in years and Im not sure Ils make sense unless you are optimizing a new route through the entire REAL speedrun.
Can we just ban Alpha, inform Ivan of any rule changes or clarifications to differences in emulation and move on from this ridiculously inappropriate use of the forum space.
I do, but only on NES. Now where would i submit a run if i wanted too since the option is gone? Should I add a separate game and moderate it myself?
Youve requested changing all these games, but all are easily playable on nes like almost any FC game. Maybe add a category or 2nd consol, but it doesnt make any sense to change it from the only version anyone has ever submitted to FC.
I really enjoy getting the projectile and 100% is the most logical next category i suppose... if not "goodending". But, watering cans only doesnt let use shoot stuff. Although, it is the other intended ending in the shortest time. For 100%, 1up collectibles are 1 and done, but all other pick-ups (barrier and invincibility) reappear after deaths or leaving the areaa. Would we pick up everything once and just leave it if it reappears, or would we skip the non-permanent items?
