So I've recently been putting together a frame data and combo guide for Thrill Kill as a side project, and in an effort to put this research to use I decided to mess about and do a speedrun of the Arcade mode.

I used Cain here since the AI cannot easily deal with his ability to zone everyone out. Cain's ability to deal massive damage off of single launchers leads to really reliable damage, where a high damaging grounded combo will have plenty of opportunities for the AI to break out of it.

A large reason Cain can do so much damage is the game mechanic where ending a combo string in a special move causes it to do double damage. Incinerate, Cain's powerful flame jet move, only does 6 damage when used by itself. However, if you combo into it (which pretty much every combo string can!!!), it does a massive 12 damage instead. Expect to see a lot of projectile spam for wins here.

As for the run itself, I am pretty okay with this despite a couple of errors and a really terrible yet safe Marukka fight that lost me more than 20 seconds. I 100% can beat this time since this is only my third completed run, but I'll moving onto another character. Probably Dr. Faustus since I'm already quite capable with him.

I will eventually do an Arcade Mode run with every character, but I'm not going to grind the game too heavily.
