howdy. i avidly watch speed runs, and now i'd like to start my own stream. i doubt i'll ever actually try to speed run anything, but i'd like to stream some games nonetheless.
i'd request some help regarding obs. i've tried to do a couple of streams in the past, but the settings regarding bit rate, resolution, etc, are confusing to me. i'm very ignorant of these things. my internet speed is pretty poor, typically between 3 - 6 download speed, and 1 and 2 upload. i've read it might not even be feasible to stream with these numbers.
anyway, i greatly appreciate any help. if this isn't the right place for this, i do apologize. thanks :)
Bitrate and resolution are dependend on your upload. Considering you have a 1-2 MB/s connection i would recommend to set your bitrate to 800-1500 depending on internet stability and speed. Resolution should be set to either 480p or higher. You just have to fiddle around with that a bit. Just use some settings, start streaming for a bit and see if you drop frames.

For comparison my upload is 5MB/s and i stream at 720p 2000 bitrate and 30fps.
