After looking at both the 45:55 RGT from MetroidMcFly and timing it myself, I kinda don't understand where the 45:55 is coming from. In the video, my timer hit the RGT in like the middle of the credits. If we do go for just a second column for RGT, we should really find a good point that is a nice place to stop it. I've been stopping livesplit after the fade to black when flying away in the helicopter. I agree though with Ecdycis on that really, IGT is a bit easier to base the LB off of. I'm completely open for both though.
Edit: dawned on me that RGT would be pretty important though if we start getting millisecond runs because IGT doesn't show that.
The rules state the RTA timer ends at the start of the final cutscene, my vod has it right when it fades to black.
Metroid's 45:55 comes right when the death scream in the final tomb happens.
Two things needed are consistent RTA ending in the event of a neck and neck tie and IGT end credits shown for the official timer.
In the future RTA should utilize livesplit for the millisecond issue however this would be rare. Officially for most runners I'd say it would only need IGT
I'm not certain about IGT vs RTA but we should stop the timer when you lose control of your character like they do in Super Metroid. Super Metroid stops the timer when you press down to get in the ship at the end. IMO we should stop the timer when we die or when we get in the helicopter.
