Honestly, I don't have much evidence, but it's really suspicious how they didn't use sound from the game. Honestly, I feel like it should be banned to just submit a run without the game sound, otherwise it's a higher chance a run will get spliced. Gotta say though, if it is spliced, the cuttings are clean, but this is my belief. If I'm misunderstanding something, just let me know. I felt as if something wasn't right about the run, and the music not even being the real background music makes it even more suspicious. I think this should be looked at. I don't have full real evidence yet, but something seems off.

I get your point. It's already so good, and there's no sound. That does make it more suspicious. But, there are people, even me who dont/can't use sound for multiple reasons, such as you don't want to, it's late at night and you live with other people, etc. I'm not saying they didn't splice it tho, they mightve.

That's a fair point but honestly just run at a time when you can use sound like maybe on a week end. I'm not saying I disagree with your point, and that's their choice, but most games require sound anyway to be a legitimately verified run.

@cosmonerik A lot of time people don't have time in the day, like I have marching band and can't play till very late. And although you could wait until the weekend, that is a lot less time of playing and some people don't want to wait. You can't get world record if you only play on the weekends

@cosmonerik Although I understand your suspicions, it is almost impossible to accurately splice Don't Look Down due to the energy and in-game timer. On top of that the run uses a plugin that shows the velocity and coordinates of roblockcornerclipper's gim. All these stacked together mean that it is very unlikely to be possible to cleanly splice it. You most likely meant this for video glitching out at some points during the run, but all of those are most likely just due to video recording glitches on the part of his recording software.

Side note: The clouds in the background of the run would also need to be lined up which is another point against it being possible to splice a DLD speedrun

@cosmonerik I understand your suspicions but like Immortal said, the height, energy, attempt count, and especially the background and timer basically makes it near impossible to splice. If we wanted to safeguard tho we would ask runners to send a raw recording of the run with the ingame music included or something else like that. And besides, splicing is used in games where there’s a cut to black screen, where your cut would be much easier to hide

but yeah the clouds are essentially impossible to splice as they are moving actively the entire run, his recording glitches are controversial just because there is a higher quality standard for top runs but due to the amount of active players it isn't important

sound wouldn't help because the only use to it is sound effects which can easily be placed throughout the run, unlike other games

And it's not that big enough of a game to spend that much time on a spliced run that would probably be immediately rejected/beaten

I don't think its possible it could be spliced bc the gamelink at the top and time, I was looking for evidence of splices in the vid bc I thought it was tased. Again in the words of Karl Jobst, "The better the player is, doesn't make them any more likely to cheat"
