Running Shoes?

So I've absolutely fallen in love with this game, and always entertained the idea of speedrunning games. In the process of setting up my first run and working on 100%ing the game, I've seen a lot of mentions of the "running shoes" item but not a clear description of how to get it. Does anybody know the EXACT method of how to unlock them? I've beaten the game on:

  • Easy (under 4 hours)
  • Normal (not under 4 hours)
  • Madhouse (screw this difficulty with running lol)

I've unlocked the xray glasses and circular saw but have not received the running shoes... Can someone confirm the exact method on obtaining?

Also... Hello all!

Seems to be the 20 Mr.Everywhere.

Here are the locations in order of appearance : http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2017-01-24-resident-evil-7-mr-everywhere-statue-locations-mr-nowhere-4298

Thanks for the help, was already middle of a run working on these guys! Now the question is where do we get the infinite chainsaw lol

Antarctica

The running shoes only increase your walking speed, not your actual sprint speed, so its pretty useless for runs unless you like to walk lol

Yeah pretty much but I'd rather have them on me just to keep moving the tiniest bit faster! Gotta aim for those times! B)

Sweden

Can confirm that the walking shoes increases your crouching speed

the circular saw is from the 4 hour speedrun, run it again if you didn't get it. I've seen some people posting on reddit about that that achievement being somewhat bugged

If the shoes make crouching faster that may make them worthwhile. So long as that inventory slot is available the whole game without needing to visit the box more.

When you get the blue and red keycard, you use up every slot without the shoes. You could send the shoes to the box at Marg or something, since you can send the reward items to the box by "deleting" them.

The amount of time spent crouching and moving in game is negligible; you can use the shoes for NG+ runs sure, but if you compare it with the time to take them out, put them pack in or delete them in the inventory when you need the space you start to come into perhaps non-existent time saves, I haven't tested whether there are enough crouch areas to make it useful though
