You mean clipping the the warp zone stairs, like the AISSON category does but on Any%?
there are only very specific places where your subpixels are lined up perfectly for a wall clip. for example, the clip in 1-2 is only possible all the time if you don't slow down at all during the level, which makes previously 4 or 5 frame jumps 2 frame jumps(like the one to get over the koopa and the 2 goombas). your subpixels would probably not be lined up to do a clip there, like in the beginning of 4-2 and the fpgs(which also have to have the level played weirdly precisely, at least for 4-1) i'm only saying they probably wouldn't be lined up because out of something like probably 500 or more different blocks there are that you could theoretically clip into, only a handful of them are actually possible to clip through because of your subpixels. but who knows, maybe it is possible. tho a TASer would prolly have to get out their tools to do this one, since it might require an insane amount of precision if it is possible, like the single top block clipping method of lightning 4-2. it could very well be possible, it could not be. tho the wall clip would prolly not be implemented until humans could do it 1/10 tries at least.
Mario isn't fast enough to clip in the staircase no matter your subpixels. A little bit faster and it would be doable
Pretty sure such a clip would require perfect or atleast near-perfect movements. doubt it possible. but hey speedrunners been surprising for generations so. who know
@TetraSmashBox like I said, Mario isn't fast enough, so it's definitely impossible
We would have found out by now it’s been about 2 decades of speedrunning and 1 decade of no time saves except for one which was only 1 frame. If it is possible to clip in it someone would already find out because there are very smart people who speedrun SMB1. I’m done seeing this forum about a bunch of people talking about stuff that could easily be experimented (maybe with a person smart with Mario and subpixels. So that’s all their won’t be a clip.
Any% (NTSC) runs below 4:57.000 must now fulfill additional requirements in order to be verified.
