NEW CHALLENGE PROPOSAL

I want to suggest a new category for the 1990s Tomb Raider 1 & 2 for the PlayStation (1) since these were the first games I ever played as a kid. My dad and I finally beat the game back then and restarted the game afterwards with a personal challenge since we played side by side. RULES AS FOLLOWS:

•LARA MUST HANDSTAND EVERY CHANCE SHE HAS, OR TREAT IT AS IF SHES BEEN KILLED. •No Glitching. •Video required. •Deaths = Current level restart. No Loading last saves. Timer doesn't stop if a restart is needed. •Handstands must be done whenever she must climb up from something. Whenever possible. If you can bypass grabs, it is acceptable. But if not, you MUST HANDSTAND, or die! •If Lara dies because she didn't handstand, and you have a friend (in person) on stream with you, it's acceptable to swap players during the level restart BUT the timer and the video must continue recording everything, or it's not to be considered valid. (Single player or Co-Op, optional naturally).

I did complete the challenge long ago before knowing about records like this. Back then it was for fun. Took several hours.but was fun and definitely challenging for the two of us.

Even if this becomes a thing, place for it isn't on a main board but rather on category extension board since it has some "challange runs" on there. You've been quite specific with no glitching and limiting platform to PS1 only, is there any reason why someone wouldn't want to do a glitched or PC run? Video is required everywhere, no matter of what you're running, it's a game rule. I wouldn't be personally interested in running it myself since I think i'd find handstands irritating me after a few times (but that's irrelevant here), but I'd prefer to not make the category unless there's already some solid amount of runs. If it will be only you running this there is no point in creating a board that will have only 1 run; having a board isn't something what makes your run valid or invalid. There's already a lot of emptiness across all boards, creating more categories for just 1 run will just multiply it. Feel free to record this run and share it on Youtube, Tomb Runner discord etc. and maybe someone else will get interested in it, since not a lot of people read this forum.

I only suggested PS1 only as it was what my dad an I played on. I suppose it wouldn't need to be exclusive to it now that you mention it. That's also why I called it a "CHALLENGE" because we considered it a challenge playing back in the mid 90s only on Playstation 1. Plus it took us several days the first time we did it...but really the two of us found it rather challenging since in the 90s we didn't know how to glitch or bypass climbing or jumps back then, like so many know of how it works now. It's just how him and I did the "challenge" those days. It was different and difficult back then. Also, we found it a bit irritating too but not so bad if we let each other play when we failed and had to restart the level.

...sadly my dad passed away in 2020 and the anniversary made me think of it. I thought it might be appealing to people who are getting a bit bored or frustrated playing on PS1 for a better score, and may wanna try something different but not necessarily a different game or platform. But ya I don't see any reason to restrict it to the PS1 other than my own personal reasons I've mentioned.

I would like to submit my own video of my attempt these days but I can't get the disc drive fixed on my PS1 console. Im still trying to get it to work again... which makes me wonder, having to replace something like a disc drive on such a platform wouldn't mean I can't submit a score, right?

Sorry for later response, seems like I missed it in all notifications. Regarding PS1 question , I don't know too much myself since I've never really used consoles too much but if it doesn't change anything with how console works it shouldn't invalidate the run in my opinon.

You're free to share your videos of your idea in Discord server, as you can see noone even responded here, people just don't read these forums.
