I really want to submit with Emulators because I can't submit with switch if you like you can add rules to Emulators like only playing on 1.3.0 if you were woried about the action guide there is an Emulators that does not remove the action guid load so please allow Emulators please
small problem, like 95% of emulators are illegal soooooooooo take that how you want
however if you are willing to take a risk ryujinx is a good one.
however, if you are trying to play 1.0, the speedrun is faster on 1.3 because of loading times. so it's just worth it to just get a capture card. the only real reason to play on 1.0 is for minimum captures.
ignoring the elephant in the room of most switch emulators being taken down, switch emulation still isnt accurate enough to allow smo speedruns on
- slowdowns arent fun to play with. even really good computers still encounter them. emulators are fine for practicing and such, but real time runs just dont seem doable
@Ashernaut Emulators are in no way illegal provided that the code does not infringe on the copyright of the system itself. Dumping your own game files is also not illegal at all. As far as I know, Ryujinx is completely free of any code that would infringe upon copyright. Illegality comes into play strictly when speaking of pirated software and distribution of pirated software.
The problem with Emulators for SMO is that they are currently too inaccurate, as in there are glitches on emulator that do not happen in the real game. There are also some other differences, most notably loading times. Once they become accurate enough there is a solid chance they will be allowed, see most older games for example
yeah and idrc about submitting to speedrun.com (all of my runs are too slow to even be accepted and my pb is 1:29:09) so even if its against the rules I just want to play smo in 240 fps with the low input lag of a pc.
ok so my 2 submitted runs just got rejected for being on an emulator even though they are on switch, I would obviously never submit a run done on an emulator to the leaderboards, so what gives?
I only said I would like to use an emulator for practice and would use it for running if it were accurate and allowed, but every run I have submitted to speedrun.com is legitimate, and captured directly from my switch.
