Hey guys !

All speedrunners, you have to know that, Overkill gonna let us have an access to the tournament build of Slaughterhouse !

J.Mad which is at DreamHack had the opportunity to talk them about the speedrunning community and get some access code for the most active speedrunners in the community.

So that means, for people who dont know what that build is, the tournament build is for the moment a SlaughterHouse DW map with 0 RNG. It's always the same. So you can practice over and over to have the perfect run.

Thanks to J.Mad, they understand we had a lot of problem to the leaderboard to make it consistent for a long time. So it's an opportunity to have a help from OVERKILL !

Not everything is perfect with their tournament build, for example the version of the game used which will sometimes change (they want to add the new skill trees), and the run-killer drill on Slaughterhouse.

But it is a great step for the Payday speedrunning community and hopefully Overkill will think about us when fixing bugs and such, and maybe even standardize every single map with a time-attack mode.

At the moment, the most important issue is the difference between everyone's specs though.

That'll be great if we actually get the access to it.

I already have my access and it's totally a "new game" called "PAYDAY 2 - Tournament" in your library. I don't launch it for the moment, we have to wait for the end of the DreamHakc tournament.

Hey there ! J.Mad in the place.

Like Clad told y'all, I had a talk with the devs about speedrunning, and the future of their tournament mode. They actually want to get more maps without RNG & with time-attack. Not sure when, but they're definitely working on it.

Anyways, they seem to be interested (and impressed !) by the speedrunners. WR for slaughterhouse is currently 9:59, when they couldn't do better than 30-ish minutes at the office ! Ahah :D
