I ran into this weird glitch with Forge in an attempt earlier today, if this has the possibility to be made consistent, then it will save a lot of time.

even if repeatable im not sure how useful this would be, cause the main thing it allows you to do is skip rescuing the infantry. But if you skip them and just go in with the hogs, then you wont have the fire power to take out the resisting forces in a timely manner.
