Hi guys, I've just found a bug in my casual gameplay that makes to jump extremly high, it's done by using the rebirth perk and dying in one of those purple rays of the second region, here is a clip of the demostration: (Sorry for the weird angle and bad recording but I made it that way because my pc is a potato and the other way is hard) I hope this can help :)
So I found it works exactly like stated. Trigger rebirth in the purple gravity pillars in area 2.
Heres the extra information I'm going to add on.
- It can be difficult and sometimes slow to actually maneuver with this moon jump. In some cases slower than normal, and definitely shouldn't be used for bosses.
- It reduces gravity in such a way that you can maintain height with an upslash virtually indefinitely.
- Returning to Sanctuary and zoning into new areas does NOT reset the glitch. You can pick it up, RTS, and then go to Area 3. I managed to do the full climb and get the grappling hook in about 20 seconds.
- Triggering Rebirth for a second time WILL reset the glitch. Could be useful taking a death to prep for a boss fight. Also note that dying without rebirth WILL NOT reset the glitch. Rebirth seems to be required.
I may do a run tomorrow, since I haven't done a run since the finisher update came out, and the eldritch update and this wonderful new glitch also came in as well.
Edit: It also occurs to me that this change might make Resist% about on par with Embrace%, considering the time save in area 3 with the directional dash.
Hi guys, I've discovered other interesting thing, I was testing the glitch and in the top part of the sanctuary (where the light comes) if you use the corrupted propulsion engine it gets you oob, I think this can be useful.
We've found the occasions OOB before, but it's really hard to do anything with in most cases. I'll play around with it though.
Some notes about the behavior of this glitch:
- Double jump shoots you up - fast. You can cancel out of it with corrupted air dash (I'm assuming regular air dash works too)
- The gravity wells still affect you while the bug is active
- It only affects upwards momentum - and breaks other movement tricks like cannon jumping
- While floating upwards, you can attack in mid air to keep moving up - I used this in this clip: to navigate all the elevators in A3, get all the skills/A3 boss keys (except mid), then canceled it on my farm chest in A3 - it's definitely faster than other methods I've used to explore A3, but could probably use more optimization
- It's for sure hard to navigate with, and I'm not sure it would be viable for use in an entire run. The fog in A3 insta kills you if you double jump into it because of the glitch https://www.twitch.tv/dyindude/clip/EasyHeadstrongGnatMcaT , so I don't think it would be useful to cheese things like the new passive ability rooms, but definitely a tool worth exploiting for speedruns in current patch.
