Removing "Real time" from leaderboards

The rules state: "In-game timer recommended, but if you want, an outside timer can be used. Rules for that are that your timer starts once you gain control of the bike, and timer stops once you lose control. IF USING AN OUTSIDE TIMER,TIMER MUST BE IN VIDEO SO TIMES CAN BE MATCHED."

If we've determined real-time to be inaccurate for comparing times across different platforms, why use that as a metric on the leaderboard at all? It will benefit everyone if the "real-time" column is removed, in addition to this timer rule, so we wouldn't have to deal with this nonsense: https://twitter.com/Tenebrae101/status/917406470785945600

I am really about to remove real time altogether minus Original mode Genesis runs. This is getting confusing, but helping at the same time. This is literally the first game I've ever submitted/moderated so I'm still getting a handle on things. I plan to give the timers a lookover once I get home from work in the morning.

I support this as well. The only category that needs RTA is Original mode on the genesis. Everything else would be better served looking exclusively at IGT.

Well, timing rules have been added/fixed to a certain extent. Is there a way to edit types of run submission? To remove RTA for all categories that don't require it?

So what you would do is simply uncheck the option for "In-game Timer" under "Edit game". Doing so will only give one column simply labelled "Time", but that's ok because the rules for each category will tell the player what type of time to submit there, whether it's real or in-game.

Now, in doing so, I'm not sure whether it's the real or in-game times that will be left in the new "Time" column for each submission. If it's the former, you may have to go through every run and re-add the times manually.

i am in favor of removing RTA simply because it will be less work for me. when i first joined as moderator for the genesis version i had to manually frame by frame all the runs and input the RTA times myself.
