Speedrun.com's messaging system won't load for me so this is the only way I can really contact anyone. After coffeejuncky pointed out my runs seeming fishy I compared my current Intravenous files to a fresh new Intravenous and some files didn't match. I also checked my subscribed items on Steam and I do not have a single mod I'm subscribed to so that couldn't have been the problem.
I never meant to cause harm I just genuinely was interested in speedrunning and Intravenous seemed like a fun game for me to run! And I guess my game has always been bugged because I checked back all the way to when I first recorded the game as a let's play for my channel and the game functioned the same as it did for my speedruns. So my files were incorrect for about two years and I just never noticed as I never modded my game via Steam.
Again thank you coffeejuncky for pointing this out and notifying me, honestly never even noticed this and thought it was just a weird thing with the game! I'd much rather have a clean fresh slate then EVER cheating. It was an honest mistake one that I don't even know how it happened and never intended for it to happen. I'm not done with my search just yet though. I'm going to do a couple of things to try and recreate what happened so I can hopefully prevent this from happening in the future, for this community. Even if I get banned or prevented from submitting runs I do genuinely love this game/community and don't want this happening again so I will still try and stay in contact if possible if I ever do find out how this happened.
To end this off I am already in the process of removing all of my runs because I DO NOT want these to represent me, I'd much rather have a slower/worst time than a cheated time no matter what! Again thank you coffeejuncky and no need to say sorry for saying it seems fishy in the first place! And again thank you for making me aware of this, I really do hope you don't see me as someone evil, I am legit shocked to this discovery as well. And will do whatever is necessary to make sure things are right!
Thank you, thank you. I cannot stand cheaters in speedrunning so when I found out that I myself cheated with a very messy version of Intravenous it was a big yikes moment for me!
Still looking into how this happened (and how to recreate it), I’ll keep everyone updated in this forum post if I find anything!
I found the problem! It’s really weird and I don’t know if it’s the ONLY map to do this. But when I first played Intravenous after I beat it I tried out some steam community maps. After I played them I got rid of them. HOWEVER from some digging it’s because of the steam community map MIDNIGHT BEAST.

I don’t know why, but for some reason the mod creator lowered the noise of all weapons for the maps. And even after unsubscribing from it the changed audio still affected my game. So if you ever subscribe to this map make sure you uninstall and reinstall Intravenous once you’re done or else the audio glitch will stay.
Some precautions I would recommend is at the start of a full run the runner must show the maps they have installed before starting to show that they don’t have MIDNIGHT BEAST installed to help verify a valid run.
Slight edit, I also forgot to mention, the reason you’d have to reinstall Intravenous afterwards is because some people have mentioned that upon unsubscribing from the mod guns actually got louder than normal. So reinstalling should fix every weapon.
I knew about this and deleted them in advance. It should be mentioned in rules that custom levels also affect game and should be removed. Only in my opinion unsubscribe was enough. I have to check if checking cache will make a difference or not.
