Hey guys, I'm a glitchless runner for Dark Souls Remastered and I decided to make this beginner guide that will hopefully get you started quickly with running Any% Glitchless. This is the route I used when I started running this category and it combines a very common Any% route with some strats that make it safer and less frustrating for beginners.

While it does use the Black Knight Halberd and therefore requires an RNG drop, you can use the tool Gadgetlemage to drop you the weapon for practice runs. Keep in mind that if you don't get the ingame popup for the weapon, that means the tool gave it to you and you can't submit the run to the official leaderboards. However I very much recommend using the tool unless you are specifically going for official runs only. If you do get the weapon drop by the game, the tool doesn't do anything and the run is official! There are alternative routes that use non RNG weapons like the Crystal halberd, but the moveset, damage and upgrade cycle is very different so I decided to keep the BKH so you can get used to it.

A few general tips related to speedrunning:

1. Don't worry too much about fighting bosses in the fastest way possible when you're just starting out (my first speedrun was 4 hours, so you will be fine KEKW). The most timesave you will get is from not dying too many times (who would've guessed). So take every safety bonfire you can along the way to minimize timeloss from dying.
2. Try not to reset every time you make a mistake, doing full runs is important to get enough practice with late game.
3. If you perform a Save&Quit during the run, you have to go back ingame immediately or your run is invalid. This only matters if you plan to submit your run to the official leaderboards.
4. You can use savefiles to practice certain parts of the run easily without having to start a new run every time. You can use the Save Organizer tool to help you with that.

##ASYLUM

1. Choose Warrior + Master Key
2. Skip the first Asylum Demon Encounter
3. Talk to Oscar to receive Estus Flask and Key
4. Pick up Longsword
5. Kill Asylum Demon
6. Open the door and take the raven express to Firelink

##SETUP

1. At Firelink, go up the stairs towards the Undead Parish Elevator and drop down into the shaft. Follow the hallway until you reach 4 chests, open the one on the right to get 6 Homeward Bones. Use one to get back to the bonfire quickly.
2. Pick up the 3 humanity at the well
3. Go down the elevator and use all your humanity (increases droprate of the BKH), then up the stairs to Valley of Drakes
4. Pick up the soul behind the door and the one in the undead dragon's left hand.
5. Go up the elevator to Darkroot Basin and use the souls
6. Rest at the bonfire to set your warp point
7. Kill the black knight for the BKH
8. Pick up grass crest shield (GCS) and equip it
9. Go towards Havel's tower and pick up the soul next to the tree on the left
10. Open the door and run past havel (he won't hit you if you don't stop)
11. Open the upper door and immediately go up to the titanite lizard so havel stops following you, kill the lizard for 2 extra twinkling titanite
12. Go back down and kill the hollow in the doorway, making the fire barrel roll down
13. Open the house from the other side and pick up Gold Pine Resin from the chest
14. Bone back to Darkroot Basin
15. Run up towards Undead Parish and pick up the Longbow and the titanite lizard on the way
16. Use the remaining soul and purchase the battle axe from Andre
17. Rest at the bonfire and put all your levels into strength, since the Battle axe has better strength than dexterity scaling. Don't go above 22 strength though, or you won't have enough souls for 18 dexterity after the gargoyle fight.

##GARGOYLES

1. Equip the battle axe, gold pine resin and homeward bones
2. Go through the undead parish church and go up the stairs to the fog gate
3. Fight gargoyles using the battle axe + resin (battle axe will stagger the gargoyle every 2 hits, which will help a ton)
4. Ring the bell and then jump down to Oswald to buy 4 homeward bones. Kill him with battle axe + resin afterwards for the humanity and souls
5. Bone back to the bonfire and level strength to 22 and dexterity to 18, then upgrade the BKH with the remaining souls if you have enough

##QUELAAG

1. Head towards firelink by going through the church again, picking up the firekeeper soul at the altar on the way
2. Go down the elevator and past the bonfire
3. Kick Lautrec off the ledge to kill him, once you get the souls do a quitout to be able to pick up his loot
4. Take the elevator down to New Londo and equip the FAP-ring, heal to full health
5. Go up the stairs to valley of drakes again, but this time turn right after the bridge to enter Blighttown
6. Make your way down until you reach the swamp and then roll towards Quelaag's domain
7. Equip the BKH and unequip GCS to keep a fast roll
8. Kill Quelaag, use staggers if you can
9. Ring the bell and jump down to demon ruins
10. Kill Ceaseless Discharge by picking up the gold hemmed set and then running back to the fog gate, making him jump down towards the lava
11. Wait until you get the humanity and homeward bone, then warp back to Undead Parish

##IRON GOLEM

1. Upgrade your BKH at Andre to +3
2. Level Endurance to 17
3. Make your way through Sen's Fortress
4. Before going through the fog gate at the top, turn right and stand on the bridge leading to the tower. Turn around and kill the giant using your Longbow. You might have to break one or two of the bombs stacked next to him with an arrow to be able to see him.
5. Fight Iron Golem, try to stagger him close to the ledge if you can to make him fall off

##ANOR LONDO

1. Rest at the bonfire
2. Take the elevator down and then run over the roof towards rafters
3. Equip GCS in the right hand and 2hand it to be able to block and push away enemies that stand in your way
4. After passing the last Painting Guardian jump directly towards the fog gate to skip the last one
5. Push the lever to move the elevator down
6. Heal to full if you need to
7. Run past the Sentinels and Batwing Demons until the Silverknight Archers start shooting, then quitout on the roof
8. Go up towards the right one, quitout again when reaching the building
9. Equip BKH and kill him if he doesn't fall off on his own
10. Rest at the interior bonfire
11. Go up the stairs and jump off, skipping the roof section of Anor Londo
12. When reaching the entrance hall, go up the stairs on your left and towards the Giant Blacksmith
13. Buy 6 twinkling titanite and upgrade your BKH to +5
14. Bone back to the bonfire

##O&S

1. Equip GCS and BKH
2. Enter the fog gate, skip the cutscene and do a quitout to restart the fight (avoids getting the glitched Ornstein dash)
3. Enter the fog gate again and run to the right, making Smough take the long way around the pillars and giving you time to kill Ornstein. If you don't manage to kill him immediately try to keep the two seperated by keeping a pillar between you and Smough
4. After the fight go up the elevator, then shoot Gwynevere with an arrow
5. After you received the lordvessel light the bonfire and warp to Firelink
6. Jump down the hole leading to Firelink Altar and place the lordvessel
7. Warp to Undead Parish, level vitality to 16 and the rest into endurance

##SIF

1. Buy 50 arrows from Andre and then kill him with BKH
2. Run through Darkroot Garden and open the gate using Artorias' Crest
3. Rest at the bonfire as a checkpoint if you need to
4. Run past the NPCs attacking you towards the bridge and talk to the cat to make them stop following you
5. After going down the stairs go around the building on the left and pick up the stone armor from the chest
6. Fight Sif, then pick up the Hornet Ring and homeward bone back to Undead Parish

##SEATH

1. Warp to Anor Londo
2. level strength to 32
3. Run past the boars and take the elevator, use all souls from your inventory you still have
4. Run past the mobs and take the second elevator
5. Do Duke Skip with the bow setup, then go down the ladder and take the balcony bonfire
6. Go through crystal cave and towards seath
7. When triggering the bossfight, quitout to respawn in front of the fog gate, preventing any clams to get into the boss arena
8. Reenter the fight and equip Stone Armor + BKH + GCS
9. After killing seath, warp back to Firelink

##PINWHEEL

1. Level vitality to 20 and put the rest into endurance
2. Head to the catacombs, after pulling the lever kill the necromancer and rest at the bonfire
3. Kill the skeletons in front of the bridge, then stand on the ledge right after the bridge on the right. Drop down onto another ledge and heal to full
4. Drop from there onto the 3rd ledge and heal again
5. Drop to the bottom where the skeleton wheels are and run for your life kekw
6. After killing pinwheel, head to the tomb of giants

##NITO

1. After dropping down the first slopes take the bonfire
2. Go through the fog gate and go left towards the skeleton archer
3. Drop down right at the item onto a platform, follow it and drop again on the left at the next item (Silver serpent ring)
4. From there you can drop one more time to leave the area
5. Run past the pinwheel clones and through the fog gate
6. Equip Stone Armor + BKH + GCS, put humanity in your quickslots
7. Drop down to Nito, avoid any scream attacks by blocking with your halberd and then heal to full
8. Kill the skeletons, then Nito, using humanity if you run out of estus
9. Warp to firelink

##4 KINGS

1. Go down the elevator towards New Londo Ruins
2. Pick up transient curse
3. When reaching the first enemies go to the right and through the arch, follow the path to get to the firekeeper soul, quitout to despawn the ghosts
4. When reaching Ingward on the roof quitout to deaggro the ghosts
5. Kill him with your Longbow so he drops the Seal Key
6. Open the Seal and lower the water level
7. Equip the Covenant of Artorias and heal to full
8. Go back up the stairs and then drop down on the right, run towards the fog gate
9. After going through the fog gate, roll down on your left and heal to full
10. Equip Stone Armor + BKH + GCS and drop into the Abyss
11. Block any magic attacks with your shield and then heal
12. After killing each king try to damage their hitbox as much as you can while they die to speed up the fight
13. Wait for the 4 humanities to drop before warping to firelink

##BED OF CHAOS

1. Go to blighttown and through Quelaag's boss arena
2. Jump down at the bell and roll through the illusory wall
3. Talk to the eggman to allow you to pass
4. Use all your humanity items
5. Enter the chaos covenant and offer 30 humanity. If you don't have enough humanity, you can kill Patches for an extra 4, Petrus for an extra 2 or pick up the additional firekeeper soul in New Londo Ruins for an extra 5.
6. Go to demon ruins and down to where the lava level used to be
7. Run past the capra and taurus demons towards the Firesage Demon fog gate
8. Don't enter the fog gate but right towards the stone gate, open it
9. Run past the titanite demon and to Bed of Chaos
10. Use the tokhi bomb strat to kill Bed of Chaos safely and quickly, then bone back to Firelink

##GWYN

1. Jump down the hole again and offer the lord souls
2. Put all your remaining souls into vitality
3. Equip BKH + GCS + Hornet Ring
4. Run past the black knights and equip Stone Armor while going through the fog gate
5. Parry Gwyn
6. Link the fire
7. Celebrate and enjoy some Estus
