I noticed that the top 1 currently in SL1 speedrun uses glitch.

Couldn't there be a category where we run the run without glitch but still level 1?

Because like in the others there is with and without glitch, this one he uses to have more souls to quickly improve his pyromancy glove (thus facilitating the level 1 run actually).

the only category having a Glitchless variant is Any%, as that is by far the most popular. There does not seem to be enough interest in adding any other ones at the moment, but that doesn't stop you from running Glitchless SL1 yourself. Absence of leaderboards doesn't mean you can't do it on your own.

Furthermore, SL1 is all about not levelling your character and upgrading the Pyro Hand is completely normal.

Oh yeah, it's super understandable indeed.

When I run with glitch, it's actually more efficient to use the pyro glove, however, if it's without glitch, it's much faster to use other methods and that's why I came here to ask.

And one last question (I don't know if it fits here), for a new run mode to be added, is it just because of its popularity? Because modes like ONLY BOX/XBOW for example, it looks really fun :)

Adding a new category has no set procedures, but what I would look for generally is this:

• it introduces a new style of gameplay, distinctively separating it from the current categories (whether that is new glitches, different routes...)
• it does not have a completely arbitrary goal
• there is clear interest in competing in such a category by at least a few people.
